Meet the Author

As a child, thoughts of far-off places and adventure consistently kept Lori up late at night when she should have been fast asleep. After graduating high school, she came to the conclusion that there was no better way to seek adventure and nourish her love of history than to become an archaeologist. She went on to receive a degree in anthropology, but digging in the dirt during humid Midwestern summers wasn’t exactly as fun as she thought it would be. Instead, she went to work in an air conditioned museum where she spent her days surrounded by creepy Victorian animal mounts and Dinosaur bones. Still, she wasn’t satisfied.

Deciding the people in her imagination were slightly more exciting than the dead things in a museum basement, she set out to write her first novel. Shockingly enough, the book finaled in a few contests, lending to the crazy assumption that she would quickly be published and live happily ever after. That book was soundly rejected. As was the next. Years went by and she began to wonder if she’d ever see her dream fulfilled. Until one day...

    Liked story

I gave only 2 stars. I love lori's storys but cannot read anymore of them because her stories are rife with repititious phrases that drive me to distraction. I swear if i ever see anyone "take her bottom lip between her teeth", ill have to punch her.

    Secrets and vampires

    Plot:
It's the story of Meg, a nice Vicar's daughter, who is more than tempted than a mysterious stranger moves in next door. A hot neighbour. Grayson is a vampire who is hunting for clues about his missing niece and that leads him to Meg, but can she be a killer?

    My thoughts:
Meg was nice and sweet, Grayson was very tempting, but a bit of an idiot sometimes too. But who can blame him, everything does point to Meg being a killer, and having killed more than once.

This is not only the story about him wanting answers, because soon there is a body and a murder mystery. Which introduces a man I loathed, did he have nothing better to do than accuse innocent women? A bit of a semi-bad guy and a total ass.

There is also the romance, because Grayson lusts after her, even if she is only a human, and he believes she might have killed. And she, well who could say no to him. Passion promised too.

A negative thing would be that Grayson could be a bit hasty in his conclusions sometimes, but then again even though he let her know that he thought she might have done something, he still protected her too. Poor guy, he was very conflicted. So he redeemed himself in wanting to save her.

    Recommendation and final thoughts:
A nice historical paranormal romance. Murder, mystery, romance and vampires. When I finished the book I also had a wish, Meg has a certain friend, and I would love for that friend to get a HEA.

    Great book

5 STARS What a great book. A lot of surprises and very original story. GREAT chemistry between the characters and I couldn't put it down. I can not wait to read the next book in this series. Really hard to find authors today who write good historical vampire themes.

Meg James, a vicar’s daughter, witnessed a horrific tragedy and due to this tragedy, she has promised a dying mother she would protect her young daughter.  As time goes by, things get bad for the James family.  They are poor, about to lose their house, the town seems to hate them, and now a mysterious man has showed up asking questions.  Now, not only is she trying to protect her family, but she must protect herself and her heart.

Grayson Bellamont has fought in the war for years. It helped to hide what he hid within him and when he finally returns to England he discovers his sister has been murdered and his niece is missing.  People are mysteriously dying everywhere and he knows he must find his niece before it is too late.  What he finds is Meg.   What is Grayson to do when she awakens apart of him he thought was long gone?  And why does he feel this need to protect her while also trying to get the truth from her?

This is my first read of Lori Brighton’s and I am hooked!  I am a big fan of historical and paranormal.  This book has both.  It doesn’t take away from the story at all.  It was such a fabulous read and I can’t wait to read more of this series.  I highly recommend this book to anyone!  It had me hooked from the first page.  Great job Lori Brighton on an AMAZING read!

Amazing start of a series, look forward to all the books to come!

After reading Lori Brighton's Wild Series, I was nervous and anxious to read more of her work. I have read other authors with one great series and the next series sucks. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Lori Brighton brings you a new and hot series with A Night of Secrets! Meg is a fun and spunky leading lady who was easy to root for and even easier to identify with. Grayson fuels the fire in this paranormal historical and I couldn't get enough of him!

Lori Brighton's writing style allows me to see the world in which she has woven amazing characters and plot that keep you guessing.

I have spent the last week consuming every Lori Brighton book I can on my Nook. I am so pleased I found her in KISS ME KILL ME, I will follow this author anywhere she wants me to go.

    I love this book!

I just bought this and I've already finished it! I love the chemistry between the hero and heroine! And I really enjoyed the way Ms. Brighton wrote about vampires. She changed them and made them her own...oh and did I mention that Grayson is HAWT???
