    NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

So i was expecting 392 pages of one book not two. So the actual pages of the advertised book was 344. The rest of the book was an excert from another. FALSE ADVERTISING! Hence the 2stars. However, the first book was good just wish there was more of that book.

Could be a great thriller if there was more dialogue. I felt the the author was "telling" the story rather than "showing" it.

    depressing.

As a woman i found this book to be depressing. i appreciated that the way the author did not go into long descriptions of the torture/killings.

Never read any of the El Rey books, as well, not a genre I'm normally drawn to, but grabbed the free eReader version thinking I'd check it out and let my 'Other' know if I thought he'd like it as he's more of the manly spy vs spy or war type reader. I found myself enjoying more than expected. It didn't fill in many gaps about the character, since it never explains why at his tender young age he kills the Don and goes into a life of assassin, but I will assume that will all work itself out in future books. Fast, brutal and furious, and more than a little heartbreaking at times with the senseless killing that seems to surround the drug cartels, and yet, I couldn't stop reading, had to know who was on the hit list next! We'll be looking into the rest of this series indeed.

    A

This book was the history of an assassin. It is a well thought out review of his life and a telling of his brutal ways of killing. It was not a pleasant book to read. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know, but some other reviewers found it interesting

Pretty violent, but having lived in Mexico I can say that what he writes about the drug underworld is probably pretty close to true. Whoever said the author doesn't explain why this guy grew up to be a killer needs to read the beginning again more closely.

    Hello

160 page free book of the highlights in the life of an Mexican cartel assassin. The book depicts violence but stops short of being too graphic; there are more violent BDSM books out there that get disgusting and call it entertainment. Also, excerpt (or excerpts?) for King of Swords but book not yet available on Nook. Kudos to the author.
