Overview

Isabelle’s mission seemed so clear: kill the king of the vampires to give humanity a fighting chance. Except she didn’t count on falling in love with him. And she didn't realize he held secrets that could actually end up saving the human race.

As the kingdom falls and Isabelle’s heart is torn between two worlds, everything changes. There’s something more dangerous out there, a plague that might destroy both humans and vampires alike. The only way to survive it might be to find a truce between species.

Peace will require the ultimate sacrifice.

And change the future of the world forever.

Diana Bocco was a new author for me. Loved, loved, loved book 1

Diana Bocco was a new author for me. Loved, loved, loved book 1 of the Dark Tides series and eagerly awaited the (promised) "FREE" second installment. It's now late September and B&N is SELLING (the promised) "FREE" 72 PAGES OF THE ENDING of Book 1 for $5 bucks....noting it as Book 2.....with a different title. WHAT!?!? Bait and switch, broken promise or just plain greed? Dunno...but until I recieve the free promised pages, I will not buy another book by Diana Bocco and will closely monitor/review any further purchases via B&N. Trust goes a long way.

Very upset with Diana Bocco and Barnes and Noble for not sticking to their promise of delivery of the rest of the book. Love the story, and
would like to read the rest of the book. I do understand writing takes time, but don´t promise something you can´t deliver or don´t care
about to at least let your readers know where you´re at with fulfilling your promise.

    Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ Stars

Since the Vampires had invaded Earth things have gone from bad to worse for humans.  Marcus’ brother Patrick wants to enslave and kill humans, while he wants to work with them in a reciprocal relationship.  Patrick also has found a way to leash the rabids, vampires that have become sick because of the void.   Patrick is systematically destroying all life on the planet and that included other vampires.  While Marcus had gone to fight the rabids, his strong hole was attacked and destroyed by Patrick.  Marcus had been tricked into leaving the compound unprotected and the result was catastrophic.  Marcus is the King of the Vampires and has found his true love in a human mate and he had left her behind at the compound.

Belle loves her vampire and is worried that he may have been killed during the fighting.  She manages to escape and returns to her people so that she can warn them about what is coming.  No one will be safe and human life may cease to exist unless a miracle happens. Not only are the rabids overrunning everything they are not restricted to the night, they can move during the day as well.  There is no longer a safe time for humans!  The sense of safety that her people have felt is false and they need to move immediately to another safer location.

Marcus will move heaven and earth to find Belle and he would lay down his own life for her.  When he finds that she is not at the compound and has left to return to her people, he knows that he must follow her.  Patrick will not rest until he has destroyed her, will he be too late?  Will he be able to find her in time?  Where is she hiding?  Can Marcus keep her safe and find a way to stop his brother and the rabids? Can Belle convince her people that to survive they must form an alliance with the Vampires? ~TSRBR

Would I recommend this book:  Yes! If you would like to read an unusual Vampire/Human love story this is the book for you!  Set in post Vampire Invasion Earth, Ms. Bocco writes a creatively crafted story that will appeal to all readers.  She keeps her readers enthralled until the last page.

Would I recommend this author:  Yes! This is the second book in the series Dark Tide and I can’t wait to read book three!

Belle has returned to the other survivors to share the new facts

Belle has returned to the other survivors to share the new facts she has discovered. She wants to convince them they aren't safe and that not all the vampires are bad. She left wanting to kill Marcus the vampire king and returned in love with him. As she tries to get them to understand about the Rabids and that they need to rethink things. Marcus is injured but will stop at nothing to find belle and keep her safe. He has to hurry as he knows she is in danger. They both are in love and now have to show everyone what they feel and that he can be trusted. Will they listen before it's to late?

Picking up where the first book ended you see right Belle and Marcus are of one mind they love each other. The rabids seem to be multiplying and they are a danger to all vampires and humans. Belle is trying her best to show the other human survivrs they can trust the vampires but she isn't having much luck. A few secrets are revealed and it makes you see you never know for sure all you think you do. There is danger, hot scenes and so much more in this story. This review is short as it isn't complete yet. The second part is being released in August and I will just have to wait till then to see what happens. The author has done a great job so far in this series and I am sure many vampire lovers will enjoy this series.

Night of the Fallen is the second book in the Dark Tides series

Night of the Fallen is the second book in the Dark Tides series by Diana Bocco. This book takes off where the first book ended. Belle runs back to the other survivors, we don't know where Marcus is, and the rabids are worse than we thought. Unfortunately, the author had to split this book into 2 parts because well... life happens. But, she didn't want to disappoint her readers by pushing the release date back any farther. We can look forward to the second part to be released later this summer. This first part was full of heat, suspense, and danger, and was a big tease of what's to come. I'm anxious for more.

Night of the Fallen by Diana Bocco was kindly provided to me by Tasty Book Tours for review. The opinions are my own.

    Disappointed

If releasing book two before the end of the year, when it should have been out in July, is the best you can do, your best is not good enough! It is better to be upfront with readers than string them along with false dates and false hope. There are more diciplined authors in the genre and I will happily seek them out. You have wasted my time, my patience and my money. I will not be recommending you in the future, in fact, I will tell others to steer clear of your books.

Night of the Fallen (Dark Tides #2) by Diana Bocco

Isabelle escapes from the compound after the rabid vampires attack.  She goes back into hiding with her human friends hoping they do not discover that she fell in love with the man she vowed to kill, Marcus, king of the vampires.

I love Night of the Fallen.  The story picked up where book one, City of the Fallen, left off.  The action never stopped.

Isabelle is a worthy heroine.  She struggles with her feeling for Marcus and her loyalty to her human family and friends.  She realizes that not everything is what it seems and that not all vampires are bad.  Just like all people are not good.

Marcus is a well-intentioned leader.  While things did not turn out how he wanted, he does try to do what is best.  I like that he truly loves Isabelle.  I appreciate that he seems to put a lot of thought into things.

Dark Tides is a terrific series with a refreshing dystopia spin on vampire novels.  It is clever and well written.  I am anxiously awaiting the next release to the story.
