Overview

Even though he agreed to protect her cover—even though her own dad vouched for him—Allison Fletcher refuses to be seduced by Jonah Blackhawk's smooth charm and good looks. She is too much of a cop to fall for a shady character like Jonah...even if her pulse does race at his touch!

If only she did't have eyes like prime whiskey and a smile that melted his insides. If only she weren't Boyd Fletcher's daughter. Jonah had never cared much for cops—until now. But Ally was definitely off-limits to a guy like him. If only he could stop wanting her...

Editorial Reviews

Chicago Tribune
Roberts has a warm feel for her characters and an eye for evocative detail.
Melinda Helfer
Rejoice, Nora Roberts fans, and rush out to buy Night Shield, a wonderful new entry in a favorite series. The detective daughter of a police commissioner tangles with a sexy sports bar owner when she goes undercover at his newest facility to catch a gang of thieves. Ms. Roberts can do more with the short series format than most authors can in a thousand pages, and the result, as always, is sheer entertainment perfection.
Romantic Times
Publishers Weekly
There's no mystery about why Roberts is a bestselling author of romances and mainstream novels: she delivers the goods with panache and wit.

I love Nora Roberts. But I really love her series! This series was an easy read, fun group of books that I really enjoyed. You could read each of these on their own without reading the others, but it's fun to start with the first one and get to know the characters and follow them along as they change and grow.

If you like J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) you will surely enjoy this book. A hero that you take into your heart and a heroine that has just enough sass to keep the reader and the hero on their toes. Pick up a copy, snuggle in and be prepared not to put the book down until you're finished. Enjoy.

Yesh, it's good to check your writing every once in a while. As a prologue it was alright, but generally authors try to write a captivating, suspenseful prologue, to really grab the reader's attention. <br> Altogether this was pretty good, and I will keep reading, because I really, really like the show. *squee* :3

Silv, you are an idiot. Please learn to spell :D Anyway, to the prologue. Yes, some mistypings, but grammar was pretty good. Nice start. Could have had some more detail. Also, it could have been longer. You need not to explain extra if you do well in the story itself. (That's why l never leave notes at the end of my stories. Waste of space and utterly useless, in my opinion. You already should know l want reviews ^^) But, nice plot. Maybe l'll bump the show to whenever l actually get onto Netflix :D Hope to see more soon. Check over your writing periodically! Like, after every paragraph would work. Lol. ~Light&beta<_>lood

Loved this conclusion to a great series. Going back to the daughter of the original couple was brilliant. I saw the start of Roark and Dallas in this one. Loved it.

The best of the Night Tales series. Loved Ally and Jonah.

Night Shield was one of the best books. The only thing that I would recommended is to read the other books in the series first and read Night Shield last instead of first.

Everything Nora Roberts writes is GREAT! Night Shield is like a shorter version of Joe Matlock's THE DANCE, but with a cop and the damsel in distress.

This book is a great sequel and you won't want to put it down! You'll love this book especially if you are a Nora Roberts fan.

I loved revisiting everyone from Night Tales. I hope Nora does more sequels from the other character's children.

The sample is worthless since the aixteen pages given don't even get through the publishing info at the beginning of the book.
