Meet the Author

Amanda Ashley is one of those rare birds-a California native. She's lived in Southern California her whole life and, except for the earthquakes, she loves it. She shares a home with her husband, as well as a fluffy Pomeranian named Teddi, a mischievous cat named Tigger, and a tortoise who remains nameless. Amanda and her alter ego, Madeline, have written 60 books. Not bad for someone who started writing just for the fun of it. Her books have made the New York Times List, the USA Today List, and the Waldenbooks Bestseller and Mass Market lists. Currently, Amanda is working on a third sequel to Night's Kiss.

    BORING!!!

I am an avid vampire fan and I can always find some redeeming quality in a vampire book. However, this book was beyond me. I never thought I would find a book that could turn vampires into bland, boring, and flat characters. The story is very predictable, and monotonous. I found it very difficult to finish, and when I reached the end, I was very disappointed. This is not a book for someone who likes vampires, and I would not recommend it for anyone's library. I was glad that I was able to return it and get my money back.

    Not what I expected...

I must say the book was kind of a disappointment. I am not saying it was all bad it had some saving qualities some laughable parts. But the story began slow and it took awhile to get into it. There was alot of boring fact that you did not need to know. I got the book because I also read A whisper of Eternity by her and I thought that book was like a preview of what was to come.. well I was not happy in this book.. The plot was ok , The Vampire was ok but some parts it was not what you would expect to come from a Vampire, and over all I lost the whole feel for it sometimes in the reading of the book..

    Jennifer Wardrip - Personal Read

Roshan DeLongpre is a vampire bored with his existence. He's been alive for almost three hundred years, and seen and done just about everything there is to see and do. He's read hundreds of thousands of books, seen the cities of the world change, watched innumerable moons rise in the night sky. But after all this time, there's no joy left in his life-only that unshakable need to exist, to survive.

All of that changes, when he sees a colorless pen and ink drawing of a woman being burned at the stake. The captions and ensuing story in the book tells him that Brenna Flanagan was suspected of witchcraft and subsequently burned for her sins, her ashes scattered after her death in a mountain lake. Unnerved by Brenna's rare beauty, and the eerie similarity between the mountain lake in the story and that of a painting hanging in his library, Roshan immediately sets out to determine who exactly Brenna Flanagan was. The fact that she looks eerily similar to his lost love, Atiyana, furthers his resolve to solve the mystery of who this woman was.

Feeling almost bewitched himself, as the artist of that small pen and ink drawing was purported to be, Roshan chooses to use his supernatural powers to do the unthinkable-travel back into the past and rescue Brenna before the angry mob can burn her for her sins. It sounds simple enough, and in fact, both Roshan and Brenna survive the trip through time, but now Brenna is thrust into a world where nothing is as she remembers-and the vampire Roshan is in serious danger of losing his heart.

As Brenna becomes more familiar with this strange new world around her, more problems come to light-Brenna loves Roshan more than she ever dreamed possible, but is frightened beyond belief of the vampire way of life. And when they both overcome their personal fears-Brenna of being turned, Roshan of giving his heart to another woman in marriage-both are unprepared for the personal sacrifices that each must make.

NIGHT'S KISS is a great addition to the stories of Amanda Ashley, who manages to blend the power of vampires and their world with that of the modern-day. Brenna and Roshan are a powerful couple, and their tribulations, trials, and sense of survival shine through in this engaging story of love and redemption.

    Nightmares - Ch. 2! FINALLY!

Sorry for the long wait! Here it is!))
As I pack the mailmare drops off the mail. I pick it up. "Junk, junk, junk, junk, ... Oh! This one is from Dawn!" She says and opens it.
Dear Firework,
I will be going for a while to slow down the evil army. Blah blah blah I might die.
Sincerely, your fastest friend, Dawn.
"Um... :/ How did he know about the army?" She asks herself. "GET BACK TO PACKING!" Yells Goldenrod. "Who are you, my mother?" She asks sarcasticly but starts packing. She takes out her acorn necklace, pops off the cap, and stuffs in some OJ, some bananas, some hand grenades, her potato pistol (incase the fighting gets rough), some explosives, a pillow, her element, a few bottles of water, and a bunch of other stuff. She looks at goldenrod. "All ready." She says to her. Goldenrod smirks "You forgot something." She says. Firework smirks back "oh yes! The most important thing! I can't forget to stuff you in there!" She says reaching for goldenrod. Goldenrod squacks and flames up scowling "growl. No! You forgot to pack my food!" She says. "Oh yeah." She says and stuffs it in. "Ok. On my back now." She says and sets off to find Squeak. She flies to the Rainbow Factory knowing that she is always there. And just as she thought her stepsister Squeak is there sitting in the corner with her cocatrice Sear and her new pig Waddles. "Hey Squeak! Don'taskanyquestionsjustfollowmec'mon." She says really fast dragging Squeak and her two pets out of there. She looks at the list. "Ok. Ice Tears and Midnight are next." She says. ((i think those are who i had. :/. Might've been moone instead of midnight. Watever.)) She hands the letter to Squeak and tells her to follow me and dashes off to the Everfree where Ice Tears lives. [Please be there... please be there!] She thinks and bangs through the door. "Thank Luna you're here!" She says and drags Ice Tears out with Silver Dust on her back and gives her the letter and tells her to follow me. She dashes back to where Midnight lives doing the same and brings them all to the center of Ponyville. "So you've all read the letter?" She asks them. They all nod. "If we're gonna get to the Lunar Eclipse Mountains before the army gets there we need to go quick. But Luna said that I need more ponies to help. You, Midnight, go get Moone and FF. You, Squeak, go get AL and you, Ice Tears, get PTS and Steel. I'll get some others." She says. Everypony nods. "THEN GOGOGOGOGO!" She yells and we all gallop off in different directions. I gallop towards Blazin's house and knock franticaly. A very sleepy and annoyed Blazin walks out. "What the he-" "No time to explain. I'm on a mission. Follow me." She says and pulls him towards Twilight's castle "TWILIGHT TWILIGHT! GET YOUR LAZY RUMP OUT HERE AND HELP ME PLEASE!" She yells and smashes her hooves on the door. Twilight comes out very hot headed. "I am not lazy. That is no way to speak to a pri-" she notices its Firework and sighs "What is it now?" she asks "No time to explain. On a mission. Follow me." She says and dashes to Rainbow Dash's house in Cloudsdale...
RUNNING OUT OF CHARACTERS HERE! THATS THE END OF THIS CHAPTER! YAY!

    I loved it!

I really loved the way this book was written. Amanda Ashley does great work especially when it comes to her books and just the way she writes them. I loved the plot to this and the whole time travel too. The energy between Roshan and Brenna is just unbelieveable. (I get really into books especially romance.) It seems as though Brenna starts denying that she loves Roshan, but as she starts getting use to the future and the way things are she starts to amit that she loves him. I loved it and it was a great read to me.
