Return to the three-times RITA-nominated Stormwalker series in this full-length novel. (90,000 words, 28 chapters)

Stormwalker Janet Begay, proprietor of the Crossroads Hotel, a place where the paranormal stop for a safe night’s rest, discovers the hard way that a slayer is targeting Ansel, a Nightwalker who’s become a more-or-less permanent resident.

When Janet and her boyfriend Mick intervene to save Ansel’s un-life, they find that the attack is the beginning of an oncoming storm. Janet has her hands full already with the upcoming marriage of her father, her crazy half-sister, the return of a woman who claims to be Coyote’s wife, a couple of dragons on her back, and her worry about Mick, who’s behaving strangely again.

But it seems that everyone is after Ansel, who fears he killed the woman he loves in a Nightwalker frenzy. Janet must choose between protecting Ansel or facing the most powerful magical beings in the world, who are willing to destroy Janet, Mick, her hotel, and everyone she cares about to get to Ansel and his secrets.

Modern Contemporary & Gothic Romance mixed!

Cassie Bond could not help but compare Justin Drake to Count Dracula. He had the same dark clothing, dark looks, and dark eyes that hypnotized ... and his sights were set on marrying her little sister, Alison! Knowing he was only after Alison's money, Cassie blackmailed him to leave Alison alone. She won.

Justin Drake decided to teach Cassie a lesson about coming between him and what he wanted. When she rented a broken down gothic style house by the beach (for atmosphere) as a month vacation, he followed her. As revenge, he would slowly seduce her into loving him. That would take time since she loathed him, but he had plenty of time. The plan backfires when he began to fall in love with Cassie. Luring her into his bed would be even harder because she was convinced HE was the person causing her 'accidents' and using scare tactics, such as Dracula peering into her bedroom window.

***** Modern Contemporary and Gothic Romance mix to create this tale of suspense! I read this book cover-to-cover without putting it down. It is awesome! Recommended. *****

    Very Enjoyable Read

Nice easy read with a wealth of local color/character driven by the characters and their supernatural abilities. Loved the use of the native American lore and settings throughout Arizona and New Mexico. Shamans, Goddess (Bear), God (Coyote), Mages along with the Stormwalker herself, Firewalker, Nightwalker provided a fast paced adventure with little romance of course. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series since this one appears to be book #4.
