Overview

As the Squad Leader of the Elite Warriors, Nikhil Kozar was the largest warrior in the Kaliszian Empire. When a shuttle crashes on one of their planets the search and rescue mission turns into something much more complicated.

Mackenzie 'Mac' Wharton had agreed to guide a group that had wanted an adventure on her mountain. They got more than they bargained for when they were all abducted by a group of aliens called the Ganglians. Badly beaten and barely alive Mac finds herself in the arms of the largest male she’s ever seen. She should fear him, should be fighting to get away from him, but there was something about the massive male that called to her.

A traitor threatens the Empire... Someone wants Nikhil dead.... The Zaludians want Mackenzie back... And then there was the secret she's keeping.... Would it be the one thing that finally brought down the Kaliszian Empire? Or would it be the first step in its rebirth?

I'm slowly and happily working my way through the author's other 2 series (Imperial and Tornian) and read this first of her Kaliszian series to see how it stacked up. Wow, I was instantly caught up in the story, characters and world that unfolded. I love that it takes place in the same universe as the Tornians and enjoyed the brief references to a pivotal event in that series. I can see a big picture beginning to grow behind the stories of each individual couple. The end of this book left me immediately wanting to know Jen's story but I'll have to wait for Kalisian's#2 which isnt out yet *darn!* Fortunately I still have a few more Imperial and Tornian stories to enjoy while I wait. One other positive note is that this book has none of the earlier books' really bad spelling and grammatical errors. Hooray! Enjoy!! ***smiles and waves goodby***

This book was just as amazing as the previous ones, start with Wray and enjoy! Or read this one as stand alone. Either way read it and have great romantic adventure.

197 pages. I haven't read many books with aliens, but I like this one and look forward to the next in the series.

I just love this author

A little fast paced in the "all of a sudden in love" department. But I still couldn't put the book down. It has 190(ish) pages full of excitement, passion, love, heroics, understanding , etc. Very good story line. All I wish was that it had a little more of a beginning to it. The love birds kind of started off quickly as a couple. Definitely cannot wait to go to the next book :)

Reviewed by Suzanne and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog There’s one way to describe Nikhil. Huge. Even amongst the strongest and biggest of the warriors of the Kaliszian Empire, Nikhil is the biggest and strongest. But, his size doesn’t bother Mac, after all he has just saved her from a life of slavery and far worse, and that life would have proven to be very short. Not that Mac has any idea where she is, being captured by aliens and sold as labour wasn’t something she ever expected to happen to her, but Nikhil’s strength and love seem to be what she needs to heal all her wounds, both internal and external. I love M.K. Eidem, especially her Tornians series so I was so excited to see that she was doing a spin off about the Kaliszians, neighbours of the Tornians; what a treat. People may tease me about my love of sci fi romances, especially any that involve some super sexy (and sometimes strangely endowed) aliens, but I love it. What’s not love? There’s always lots of romance, a bit of humour, not to mention the aforementioned super sexy (and strangely endowed) aliens. Nikhil offers all of that, although you are safe in regards to the strangely endowed alien thing, instead he is largely endowed. This book doesn’t differ from Eidem’s previous books, what we have here is a very sweet romance between two people from very different cultures. Which at times is both funny and frustrating to read, but overall, I definitely enjoyed it; Mac and Nikhil were adorable together and it left wanting to read more. There was also a really interesting connection between Mac and a heroine from Wray a book in the Tornian series, which is a story thread I cannot wait to follow through with, I really like how she has connected up the two series so well. Not that you need to have read the Tornian series to follow this, but if you enjoy Nikhil, you should definitely pick the other series up, they are very similar so you are bound to enjoy them as well. Over all, I really liked this book, it was such a blast to read and now I am left eagerly anticipating whatever book M.K. Eidem brings out next.

Another great book by M.K. Eidem!! It is a 198 pages full of steamy loving, misunderstandings, action, sadness, and overall wonderful story. This is a first book in a new series from Mrs. Eidem. You do not have to read the other books in the other series to read this one. They are connected, by a goddess that punished each of these different empires in some way. For each empire had an ancestor that had a part in a crime 500 years ago. Now they each need each other for different reasons in order to help their people survive. Also they have problems with not enough women, or only boys being born etc. as another problem. (enter earth women lol) You would just be missing out on some great books if you did not read the others :) Can not wait for the next one!!! ****

Directly relates to the Tornian series, so read that first if you haven't already. Love it! As always, my only complaint about MKE - wish she could write faster. Can never get enough!

This is the beginng of another great series set in the same universe as first began in Grim. I would recommend this to anyone who loves this author and can't wait for more books! Just wish it were longer than 200 pages.
