Studying this book will do more than teach you how to use the Nikon D80 it will teach you how to take better photographs. David Busch discusses many elements that make for good photos, such as composition, lighting, the rule of thirds, etc. He discusses different types of photos, scenics, action/sports, architectural, macro, animal, etc. and suggests practice photos to help the reader learn. At the end of the book, a little attention is given to using the Nikon software that comes with the camera. Although this discussion could be more complete, I suspect that many D80 users will use other software or just have photos printed at a lab.

I found this book to be excellent. It's a shame that it doesn't come with the camera. A productive must for those who haven't used this camera before.

Today¿s manuals that come in with your camera are hard to follow and B/W photos! I learned more about my Nikon D80 in 15 minutes reading Digital Field Guide than I did reading the actual Nikon D80 manual. Big bold reading, great color throughout book! Even the contents are color!! Now my D80 pictures look amazing! Highly recommended! LCSGAMING
