She is at one with the piano, and her arrangements (as always) are masterful; exquisite. You are in the sanctified air of an Artist.
There is a wide range of the human experience expressed in the songs she chose for this album. Songs you've never heard before, written by her or for her, besides some standards. Just listen to "Springtime" for example, or The Desperate Ones by Jacques Brel--you travel with her on a profound journey.
That she can move you to the gravelly bottom of your own yearning, bring you back to joy, and craft the experience theatrically, in which every note is meaningful is pure genius.
