This is Book 1 of 3 in the Nine Minutes Trilogy

On May 15, 1975, fifteen-year-old Ginny Lemon is abducted from a convenience store in Fort Lauderdale by a member of one of the most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs in South Florida.

From that moment on, her life is forever changed. She gets a new name, a new identity and a new life in the midst of the gang's base on the edge of the Florida Everglades-a frightening, rough and violent world much like the swamps themselves, where everyone has an alias and loyalty is tantamount to survival.

And at the center of it all is the gang's leader, Grizz: massive, ruggedly handsome, terrifying and somehow, when it comes to Ginny, tender. She becomes his obsession and the one true love of his life.

So begins a tale of emotional obsession and manipulation, of a young woman ripped from everything she knows and forced to lean on the one person who provides attention, affection and care: her captor. Precocious and intelligent, but still very much a teenager, Ginny struggles to adapt to her existence, initially fighting and then coming to terms with her captivity.

Will she be rescued? Will she escape? Will she get out alive-or get out at all? Part psychological thriller, part coming-of-age novel, filled with mystery, romance and unexpected turns, Nine Minutes takes readers into the world of one motorcycle gang and inside the heart of a young girl, whose abduction brought about its fall.

"A story about a man who has loved me from the very beginning, from the first glance."  I picked up this book because I was seeing so many rave reviews and posts about the book. I thought if a book could initiate so much conversation, then I definitely wanted to check it out. I can now see why.  This was one of those books that completely pulled me in from the first few paragraphs and didn't let me go until the end. It was written in a memoir-like style as we learn about Ginny Lemon's abduction and her subsequent life as she spends the next years among a South Florida notorious motorcycle gang. I am hesitant to talk about any more of the story for fear that an unintentional spoiler would happen so I'm going to let the book blurb speak for itself.  However I will say this (just in case you are like me and have the same hesitations)... I was a little wary of this story because of the ages of the MCs. I think most people would be unnerved by the same thing, so I want to clarify, even though there's a lot of gory details about Ginny's life that made me cringe and wonder why I felt drawn in. I already stated the age difference which brings a lot of things into serious question, there's A LOT of crime and overall violence. It is a story of a child being abducted, that's why I found it difficult to understand the classification of it being a love story.  But at the end, there is a definite love story. Even if you are tempted not to continue reading, please know that for me the book shot to 4 stars within the last sixty pages or so. By the time I read the last two chapters my mind was completely blown. Truly it was the end of the book that made me understand the hype around it.  It was one of those YOU THINK YOU KNOW, BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA endings. I even went back to reread it to make sure I read everything the right way. I did... so the shock continued.  I also felt a pull of suspense given what we read in the prologue. While my gut guess was correct to a tiny portion of the ending, I still was blown away by the ending (^^ See above shock reaction).  When I found out a book two was coming it immediately got clicked onto my TBR list because now I just need to know.

I was in tears before I finished the prologue! Literally!! I've never been sucked into a story so completely, so quickly. It read like a memoir and was incredibly believable. I'm an avid reader and read from a variety of genres. I discovered this on Bookbub and it was categorized as "dark romance and erotica". Definitely dark and violent, but I would not classify it as erotica. Even the violence wasn't too descriptive - it was as if the main character was simply recounting events in her life. Even though I'm an avid reader, I'm rarely moved to write reviews - this book moved me like no other has in a long time.

I reread this book in preparation for reading the 3rd & final book in the series. I had forgotten how much I really, really liked this book! This is not your typical MC romance, although there is plenty of the same elements in here--it just goes way beyond and knocks your socks off!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK! I don't even know where to begin. This book had me captivated at the prologue. I bought it immediately. This story had me crying so many times I lost count. Some times worse than others. The suspense was crazy and at times the story got so intense and had me crying so hard I had to put down my Nook and walk away for a little bit to settle myself down. Lol. (Breathe in, breathe out.) Lol. Between the prologue and the end of the book I was screaming crying the ugly cry so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Grizz was a dark dark person but Kit was his sunshine. They were definitely soul mates. I know it sounds creepy to say that because he was a child molester, murderer, and complete criminal but I fell in love with his character. The secrets he kept from Kit was for her own protection. The way he controled her life without her even realizing it was unbelievable. THIS STORY BLEW MY FREAKIN MIND! AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! I could not stop until I was finished. It touched my heart in ways I never expected. This is my first book by Beth Flynn and I can't wait for more. I truly don't know how Kit stayed so together throughout her life with Grizz. But believe it or not I can see how she could love Grizz so deeply. He was actually like two different people and no matter what he tried to never hurt her. Moe was another tortured soul at the mercy of Grizz. My heart ached for her. I don't know how Kit never hated Grizz because of what he did to Moe. You can feel the depth of his love for her coming off the pages. I cannot express enough how much I loved this book. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! If you don't read the book your definitely losing out on an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions but worth every penny.

I bought this book months ago but just picked it up yesterday. I finished it today. Beth Flynn draws you into the story and you have to know what happens next. You feel the turmoil that the main character Ginny is going through during her struggle. The book was extremely well written and the story just captures you. I was hesitant to read the story because of the age difference and the abduction of a child, but the way the author wrote it brings home the points of things that happens. It felt like a real story, something that really happened. Something that does happen. I am glad I picked it up and read it.

Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin Stars This is the perfect conclusion to the Carved Heats series by authors L. C. Pace III and Michelle Pace.  In Heartwood our two main characters from the first two books in this series, Molly and Joe are finally finding their happily ever after. If you loved getting to know Molly and Joe in Good Wood and Mollywood, you will not want to miss this finale.  The twins are safe and healthy, the wedding is in its final stages of planning and life is looking really good for Molly and Joe. What is that old saying about too good to be true…or waiting for the other shoe to drop?  Of course like all couples they do have their ups and downs, but the love and commitment is strong and steady.  So what if they are both exhausted with caring for the twins or not having alone time for each other they still have each other, the twins and their families. With the wedding date fast approaching, Molly wants everything to be perfect. She is working so hard at making everything perfect that she is at a breaking point. The food trucks are doing well without her, yet Molly feels a yearning for something else.  While at the back of her mind Molly cannot help but think that something is about to happen and it doesn’t feel like a good something. Joe can see that Molly is struggling to keep her head above water with all of the self-induced worries.   He has a few ideas of how he can get her mind off of all the pressures she is feeling but the only problem is getting Molly to let go and enjoy them with him!   Hero:  4.5 stars Heroine: Molly Elizabeth Hildebrandt 4.5 stars Plot: Joseph Samuel Jensen 4.5 stars Steam Level:  4.5 stars Cliffhanger:  No Would I recommend this book:  Yes!  This book has it all, true love, hot sex, drama and mystery, what’s not to love? It also includes a lot of twists and unexpected kinks that will knock you off the anticipated path on the way to Molly and Joe’s HEA.      Would I recommend this author:  Yes! This dynamic duo does not disappoint once again with their amazing tale and well developed characters.  Expect the unexpected with this incredible pair of writers.  I cannot wait to see where they will take their creative storytelling to next!

If you’re a fan of dark romance, then this is the book for you! Whoa. It’s gritty, it’s not pretty, but I had a morbid curiosity of where this crazy story would lead, so I had to finish. 15 year old Ginny is abducted by a motorcycle gang in Florida in the late 70’s. She captures the eye of the Grizz, the head of the MC. He loves her, and makes her his, but in a very biker kind of a fashion. It’s not pretty, but it is what it is. This is Ginny/Kit’s story over 25 years, her life with Grizz and the MC. I guess if I have to get down to brass tacks, what I did not like about this book was the age of the heroine at the beginning. 15. 15 and kidnapped and made to sleep with a man who I assume is at least twice her age. I’m not a fan of child rape, and as a mother of two girls I do find it hard to swallow. But this is fiction, and the gritty biker tale/dark romance has its place in the lexicon of romance books. I did find that this was a pretty well told story, well told enough to keep me interested. My only problem with the way it was told was that it’s told by Kit after the fact, so it seems to skip over a lot of details that would have been good to have. There are some really horrific things that happen to her (rape…trigger warning!) and she kind of glosses over how she feels about it all. What saves this is that the author, I think, is truly talented in story telling so despite my objections I did find myself a bit mesmerized by this dark tale. This is not a cliffhanger, but it’s my understanding there will be another book in this series. I will read it, I’m intrigued. So, I guess from that point of view, I bought it. The whole story is kind of crazy, but I think in a genre with so many saccharin-sweet tales, sometimes you need to get a little dirty and maybe not all in a good way. 4 stars.
