At first, NINJA GIRLS seems like a standard harem comedy--a rather unlikely male protagonist who finds himself surrounded by a group of sexy girls. Unlike most harem comedies, NINJA GIRLS isn't set in the present but in fuedal-era Japan...and our unlikely male hero has a small horn on his crown that indicates he is of a special lineage. As the title suggests, the sexy girls are a group of deadly female Ninjas dedicated to protecting him from harm--but each has their own motives and more often than not they wind up at crosspurposes and doing their new lord far more harm than good. And one of the Ninja Girls has a delightfully twisted secret! People who aren't into harem comedies (or have an aversion to busty manga babes) shouldn't even bother with NINJA GIRLS. It's a harmless, mostly male-oriented, light-hearted fantasy appropriate for ages 16 and up that's definitely geared towards guys. It made me smile and I do look forward for the next volume. The artwork is crisp, yet fluid. And while the cleavage quotient is fairly high, I found myself really focusing on the delightful expressions on the characters' faces during key moments.
