Guy Boy Man, the (Internet) pirate of the title and self-appointed savior of the world, is determined to eliminate evil forces, among them violent vegetarians, wealthy communist librarians, fields ripe with writhing babies, and, of course, zombies. In his quest, Guy teams up with handsome Ninja Sweetie Honey. Enter BabyDoll15, a cute, pink-haired girl with a unicorn, and the competition is on. Can Guy Boy Man find love in a world where everyone is doomed to become either zombies or zombie food, depending on their score on the ZAT (Zombie Aptitude Test)? Sounds confusing, and it is—right from the first sentence, which, incidentally, is three pages long. Are these events really happening, or are they just in the head of Guy Boy Man, possibly the least reliable narrator since Humbert Humbert? James Marshall’s short fiction has appeared in numerous Canadian literary magazines: PRISM International, The Malahat Review, Exile, The Literary Quarterly, and Prairie Fire. One of his stories was nominated for the National Magazine Award for fiction, the M&S Journey Prize, and it was a finalist in the 22nd Annual Western Magazine Awards, 2004. A collection of his short stories, Let’s Not Let a Little Thing Like the End of the World Come Between Us, was published by Thistledown Press in 2004, and it was shortlisted for both the 2005 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize (Caribbean and Canada Region) in the ‘Best First Book’ category, and the ReLit Award for short fiction. His first novel in the How To End Human Suffering series, Ninja Versus Pirate Featuring Zombies, was released last year. James lives and writes in BC.

    Ummm.....

    A ll I read was the over veiw...Who ever wrote this must have had fun writing it. As a wanna-be author, I definatly never thought of naming a character their gender as in Guy Boy Man (? I think)... Sounds different though. I only gave it one star because I didn't read the book.
