1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was form less and empty, dark ness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he sep a rat ed the light from the dark ness. 5 God called the light "day," and the dark ness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.
6 And God said, "Let there be a vault between the waters to sep a rate water from water." 7 So God made the vault and sep a rat ed the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning — the second day.
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the land pro duce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning — the third day.
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to sep a rate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to sep a rate light from dark ness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning — the fourth day.
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and in crease in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds in crease on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning — the fifth day.
24 And God said, "Let the land pro duce living creatures according to their kinds: the live stock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the live stock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.
25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you a I will fulfill my vows. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the Lord will praise him — may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.
29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him — those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, b I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Of David. A psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; 2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. 5 They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.
Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount 5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountain side and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Review by Jill Williamson
Cute cover. My daughter loves it. At eight, she’s a little young for the “Oh I get it” sidebars and “Dream Girl” devotionals, but she likes the “Is There a Little Wise Kid in You” ones and the sporadic quizzes. I like that there’s a brief intro page at the beginning of each book that explains in kid terms what the book is about and gives some highlights. I love that she has the same NIV version of the Word that I have, so we can each read from our own bibles and have the same text.
This is a bible she can grow up with and love until the cover wears off. And I think that someday she will read those longer sidebars and devotional passages and really enjoy them because they are deep and thoughtful.

The deep pink with contrasting flowers gives this Bible a feminine look, and is eye-catching and frilly—just the Bible a young girl would love to have! The contrasting light pink, purple, white, and black emboldens the title.
The red violet and purple writing inside are colors most girls would love. It’s attractive and attention-getting, especially when contrasted with the different features interspersed throughout. All these designs help to catch the eyes and minds of young girls, with the goal to challenge them to read and apply the Word of God to their lives.
I especially love all the different features listed below, as they prompt a more active role on the part of the girls to grow stronger in the Lord and be a doer of His Word!
Here are the features included:
Book Introductions–Girls will read the who, when, where, and what of each book of the Bible.
Dream Girl–Girls will use their imaginations to put themselves in the story.
Bring it on!–Quizzes to really get to know yourself.
Is There a Little (Eve, Ruth, Isaiah) in You?–Girls will see for themselves what they have in common with people of the Bible.
What Happens Next?–Creating a list of events to tell the story in your own words.
Words to Live By–Girls will discover great Bible verses for memorizing.
Oh, I Get It!–Girls will find answers to Bible questions they’ve wondered about.
At the end of the Bible is a list of the following:
How to Begin a Relationship with Jesus
A Yearly reading guide (I’d use a pencil so you can use it every year.)
A List of Promises From the Bible
Perspectives From the Bible–”What the Bible says about”
Several pages for personal notes
The Faithgirlz! Bible has been written for tweens between the ages of 9-12. As a parent, I would love a Bible like this to challenge my daughter(s) to grow stronger in the Lord and be a doer of His Word!
A great gift just in time for Easter!
Special thanks to Diane Morrow of The B&B Media Group for sending me a review copy. No monetary compensation was exchanged.

A beautiful Bible designed for teen girls in mind!
What more could a girls love than a pink Bible designed with her unique needs in mind? Zondervan Publishing has created a beautiful Bible with girls 9-13 in mind. Every girl wants to know that she's totally unique and special, and contributor Nancy Rue helps them do just that in the revised edition of the NIV Faithgirlz Bible. As a leading tween expert, Rue teaches girls that the Bible is real and relevant and, best of all, that the story of God and His people is also their story. Girls can now grow closer to God as they discover the journey of a lifetime, in their language, for their world.
The new Faithgirlz! Bible was developed especially for girls ages 9 to 12. Everything in it is written with a tween girl’s experience in mind, and it features the most popular Bible translation in the world, the New International Version. The features explain hard-to-understand things in the Bible and guide girls to put the Scripture to work in their own lives. The Faithgirlz! Bible focuses on sharing faith with friends and gives real ways for girls to do that.
Each book of the Bible has activities that make God’s Word more relevant than ever. And, of course, because it was developed for Faithgirlz! readers, they can expect to find it jam-packed with customized content and artwork that really makes the Bible stand out. Girls will love the cool design, the interactive features and the feeling of knowing that God’s Word is there for them whenever they need it. Some of the features included are:
Book Introductions—Girls will read the who, when, where and what of each book of the Bible.
Dream Girl—Girls will use their imaginations to put themselves in the story.
Is There a Little (Eve, Ruth, Isaiah) in You?—Girls will see for themselves what they have in common with women of the Bible.
Words to Live By—Girls will discover great Bible verses for memorizing.
Oh, I Get It!—Girls will find answers to Bible questions they’ve wondered about.
Nancy Rue says, “I hope the Faithgirlz! Bible will help girls grow a friendship with the Bible, their own relationship. It asks questions, asks them to think and challenges them to apply what they’re learning. That’s how they’ll find a deep, personal relationship with God, rather than just by following rules or saying what they’ve been told without really thinking about it. Rules are important, of course, but they only make sense when they really believe the message of the Scriptures. That’s what this Bible is about.” The Faithgirlz! Bible is the perfect Bible to support girls in their journey into the “beauty of believing.”
I received the Faithgirlz Bible compliments of B & B Media Group for my honest review and the minute it came in the mail, my teenage daughter immediately snapped this up. A great sign that just the cover alone speaks volumes to her. Not only that, she asked if she got to keep it and I said yes, to much squeals of delight. Now this is part of our morning devotionals and she can't wait to share some of the insights that are included inside. It makes for a great conversation between mother and daughter while understanding and learning more about God's Word especially in the life of our daughters. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it if your looking for a beautiful Teen Bible for your daughter!

Here is a sample
I am excited about this Bible. When I got it in the mail a couple of weeks ago, I started delving into it. I have a granddaughter who will soon be nine years old, so she is who I had in mind when I was looking through this Bible.
NIV is a great translation for young readers. It's easy to understand and I don't think the young girls will have any trouble with it. I definitely prefer it to other translations that are running around.
The NIV FaithGirls! Bible has great spots for a girl to stop at and think about. Like the "Bring it On!" spots. Here she is reads something like: "When I have a fight with somebody, I:" Then she is given three choices for her actions. On the opposite page she'll find a spot that gives her three things to do in response to how she reacted. (I know, that's not very clear... but it really is cool.)
There is also through-out this Bible "In Your Own Words" section. Here a girl is encouraged to think about what she has just read and then a space is provided for her write a recap.
I really like the "Is there a Little....... In you?" parts. Here a girl reads about a character in the Bible, like Joseph and his brothers. Then she is asked four questions relating to them. She is then given a word of encouragement about her own situation.
Jammed pack with lots of wonderful things to help a tween girl understand the Bible better and have a closer walk with Jesus, the NIV FaithGirlz! Bible is a winner in my book.
I am sending this copy to my granddaughter in Arizona. I would encourage any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, family friend..... well..... everyone to get one for the tween girl in your life.

This Bible is so pretty and colorful, it is pink what more can I say about a Bible for a girl. It is the New International version and I prefer the KJV but anything to get the message across to our young children. On the inside the pages are written in pink and purple with places to write what they think and it even has some questions for the child to answer and write in her own words.
I have an eleven year old granddaughter that is getting my copy and I believe the way that it is layed out will make her want to pick it up every day and read a little. Even a verse or two always helps. All we need to do is plant the seed and God will see that it grows.
I believe any little girl would love one of these and it you have a birthday coming up or even put it into their Easter basket. This word is so much nicer than candy. Pick up a copy for your special little girl and I am sure God will bless you.
Thanks so much to The B and B Media group for sending this to me and I have posted my own review
