Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Kathleen Foucart
This book, a part of the "Little Secrets" series, is more like the second-half, or even middle-third of a longer work. The first chapter jumps right into a scene started at the end of the previous book, and the last chapter ends with no real resolution to any of the situations. Each chapter focuses on one of five possible protagonists, not all of them likable. The constant switching of focus is disconcerting, and it is hard to remember just who all the characters are and how they are related. The story seems to follow Alison more than the other characters, and her relationship between her mother, a Martha-Stewart-like figure (including the legal problems), and her grandmother, Tamara Diamond, a rich woman with power to spare. However, there are also issues with Tom and Zoey, twins whose mother died and whose father is a powerful District Attorney; Kelly, who recently learned her mother was actually her aunt; and Chad, Kelly's new boyfriend who recently dumped Kelly's cousin, Alison. This book might be more appropriate for a reluctant teenage reader than for pre-teen audiences, especially if the teenage reader is a fan of in-crowd books.

Little Secrets.! best book in the world.! [well.. in my opinion]

Little secrets is a extremly good book.! i could totaly picture me as either Alison, or Zoey... i mean... come on.. Emily Blake makes the characters so real.! when i read the first book.. i was hooked on the first chapter. at the end of the first book.. with the pool house blowing up i NEEDED to get the second book, NO ACCIDENT. when we find out that tom and zoey's father killed [or might have killed...] their mother.. his wife that mad the plot thicken.! I loved this book.. but the only problem for me is.. i cant find the last book... Lock and Key. :[.

p.s LOVE THIS SERIES

    ...

This book is better than the first. Emily blake seemed to avoid starting her sentences with conjunctions in this book.the books was also filled with mystery, but Blake couldnt seem to shake the habit of starting her sentences with 'as she' or 'as he' wich was verry annoying. Shes also verry redundant, but that might be because this is a sequeland shes trying to refresh the readers memory of what happened in the first book. Its not that bad.

    Little secrets¿ big drama!

After Allison's mother was arrested for embezzlement, her life went from bad to just plain terrible. Her boyfriend dumped her for her cousin, who she thought was her best friend, and everyone at school began to steer clear of her. With almost losing her best ally in her family, Allison is glad that she still has Grandma Diamond by her side, since she wouldn't be able to play the game without her. Still hung up over Chad, Allison is trying to live her life normally, but it isn't much help when secrets continue to leak, making her question even Grandma Diamond's motives.

Kelly had fun pulling Allison down off her high horse, but now she is just plain bored. Not only that, but she just found out that her Aunt Christine is her biological mother; and, of course, Christine doesn't want anything to do with her. With a new girl in town and no subjects whose life she can make miserable, Kelly just wants some change in her life. Maybe she can surprise her new mom?

Chad feels a little guilty about what happened between him and Allison, but is happy to have Kelly as his girlfriend -- but he doesn't know her true motives. With his own secret life still hidden, it is just bound to get out. The one person who discovers what that is can use it against him, even if he thinks they will respect him because of it.

Tom is tired of Chad using him and using Kelly, the girl who he really wants to be with. His patience with Chad is thinning quickly and, before he knows it, he has the opportunity to betray his friend in an instant. True friends don't do that, right?

Dramatic, deceptive, and very delicious, this follow-up to the first novel in the LITTLE SECRETS series, PLAYING WITH FIRE, does not disappoint. Secrets are poured out all over the place and true colors of certain characters will definitely be revealed. This series just gets better and better.
