Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 3-5-In this third title in the series, Eon, a green, bug-sized alien, returns to Jimmy's house in search of the magnification amplification pulsater (MAP) he left behind on his last trip to Earth. If not located swiftly, the device will turn all earthlings into fish. In the course of the action, Jimmy accidentally becomes invisible. The lost artifact is eventually discovered on a neighbor's charm bracelet and Eon tells Jimmy that he can be cured if he is covered with peanut butter for 12 hours. There seem to be three story lines going on at once-the search for the MAP; Jimmy's invisibility trials; and an unresolved rivalry with a bullying neighbor who has a major role in the first chapter but, in the end, has little to do with the plot. The slapdash cartoon illustrations are distorted and unattractive. This pointless story is several light years away from the zany charm and humor of books by Daniel Pinkwater.-Elaine E. Knight, Lincoln Elementary Schools, IL Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.
