Overview

Lexi Carmichael: helping geeks everywhere get some.

Okay, so it's not exactly as it seems, but that's what's happening on the dating reality show called Geeks Get Some that I, geek extraordinaire Lexi Carmichael, have been called to work on. Not that I'm a fan of reality shows (I can barely deal with my own reality). Still, I've been sent to Hollywood to find a hacker who's screwing with the results of the show's online voting system.

So what happens when I get there? Well, the producers convince me to continue my investigation from the inside. And what should be an easy hunt for the hacker turns ugly when he sets his sights on me. Add to that a studio obsessed with ratings, a bunch of nerdy contestants, and my own confusing love life, and unraveling this mystery might make me a star…or get me killed.

Meet Lexi for the very first time in No One Lives Twice!

I absolutely adore this series. If you haven't read it yet, and are a fan of smart chick lit/mystery, you are missing out on a wonderful series. This book follows Lexi, IT hacker and geek, as she attempts to find a cracker disrupting a reality tv show. Lexi is a very lovable character and this is a very intelligently written novel. Lexi is uncomfortable and inept in social situations and is thrown into the world of reality tv as she attempts to find and stop a cracker. I'd never heard the term cracker before (or many of the terms in the novel), but it's a hacker with malicious intent. I really love how the author is able to weave all of this complexity into a wonderful and engaging book. She has a way of making it feel natural and easy to understand. This is a stand alone novel and can be read by itself, but you might want to start with the first book in the series, No One Lives Twice

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely adored this book! This was my first in the Lexi Carmichael series, but I definitely want to go back and read the others. The charm and wit rivals that of Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum series. I haven't read a mystery in quite a while, so this was a great diversion. The premise of a dating show was not exactly original, but the geek twist to it was, so it was refreshing. It wasn't a bunch of perfect people who all seem to have chemistry. It was a group of geeks who have trouble interacting with others, to which I'm sure many people can relate. The mystery of which person was sabotaging the show was not easily solved by me. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something would happen or someone would say something that made me second-guess who the culprit was, and in the end, I hadn't ever really suspected the real villain. The awkwardness of all the characters was lovable and the accidents were laugh-out-loud funny, all because I could relate. The smattering of romance was just enough to add to the story without it overshadowing the mystery. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent read. I read the book in about a day because I wanted to know who was the cracker.

Enjoyed this Lexi Carmichael mystery. Not as much danger to the protagonist as earlier books in the series, but a very entertaining, easy read. Recommend it to all.

Too bad we don't have true reality shows like the one starring Lexi. I live the way Slash is drawn to her and seems to show up when and where she leasts expects.

I enjoyed the other 3 books in the series with this being an exception. Lexi was either whining or preaching. The dialogue was forced & the story dull. It took me a long time to finish this dreary read.

It is laugh out loud funny. My daughter was constantly asking what was so funny I had tears. I recommend everyone to read the full series. I cannot wait until the next book!

I have been following this series since the beginning and I love it! Each book has its own special twist that makes you fall in love with Lexi and all the characters even more. I can't wait for the next book.

Bad, bad, bad, very disappointing. It had a few humorous moments but not enough to make me like the book.
