Editorial Reviews

The Barnes & Noble Review
Co-author of the bestselling Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series, Kimberly Kirberger gives us an inspiriting, dynamic collection of teens' takes on appreciating their bodies and being at peace with their identities. Sparked by numerous letters she'd received from teens about eating disorders and weight problems, Kirberger set out to create a book of short stories, poems, and general words of wisdom to help teens give "themselves the love and acceptance they so desperately need to live healthy, happy lives." In 24 sections -- from "Get to Know Yourself" to "Go Beyond Your Comfort Zone" to "Celebrate Yourself" -- this confidence-building book includes writings by fellow teens who've experienced body image and other issues, and have found the strength to overcome them. Two of the outstanding entries inside are C. S. Dweck's honest story about sticking up for yourself, called "My Moment of Truth," and Alana Levy's farewell letter to bulimia, but all of the perspectives are brave and astute, giving readers welcome pieces of advice that speak loud and clear. With this helpful, esteem-boosting collection in hand, any teens who dislike themselves for not being "good enough" will find getting out of that mind-set easier with Kirberger's support. In the world today, girls are feeling forced to have that super model thin look with a perfect body, and when they can't acheive that, they resort to horrible tactics to make themselves feel better about themselves, which in the end, ruins them and who they truly are. This book shows you that being supermodel thin isn't going to help you feel better about yourself.Because it's all about confidence.

In today's world I think it's important to have this kind of book. Not everybody is supermodel stick-thin. This book helps normal girls accept themselves for the beautiful people they are, unlike some bestselling magazines that stick super thin super fake girls on their covers. I love this book and I think all girls should read it.

No Body's Perfect is an amazing book! It will grab all readers of any age, with it's heart felt stories and poems. It's a fantastic book for young females. It show what happenes behind 'closed doors', and ALL the pressure teen are put through. It's a great inspiration for anyone, espiecailly young girls feeling stressed and going through related issues. A great book for parents too!

What's great about these kind of books is that there are mini stories in it and you don't have to read a whole book to get to the dept of it. Personally, I think you'll enjoy this book more if you have expericed some of the events in it ( like an eating disorder or you self injure ). but still,I think it's a good book if you need a picker upper.

Well... ok... most people MAY be thinking 'this book is sooo GOOD but i didn't like it. It was just kinda boring. If you ask me... there wasn't a good hook at the begining and this book would just be plain better for the adults between 15-up! Young Teens: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

This is an AWESOME book!!! It is like the Chicken Soup books, but it gives little 'lessons for life' before each section of stories. It includes stories, poems, and insirational pieces submitted by teens about your body, and the teenage life. I would reccommend this book for ANYONE especially teens. It is written for girls, but guys would also find it ispirational.

I am a 16 year old girl and my poem was published in this book on page 216. I love this book and found it very inspirational. I would recommend it for people of all ages and both sexes.

This book is the perfect. I think every teenager can relate to something in this book. It goes deep inside the mind of a teenager and you will see the pretty and not so pretty life of a teen. The stories are even written by teens that have experienced the best and the worst things that a teenager can experience in the world. I should stop raving about this book and let you read the book and judge it for yourselves. ENJOY!
