Children's Literature - Rosa Roberts
Excuses, excuses, and more excuses are what George the rabbit finds himself telling the principal in this Spanish title. George's amusing confessions actually wind up costing him more than he bargains for when he does not wait to hear why he was called to the principal's office in the first place. George's guilt-ridden status and open confession cause him to be late leaving school and also force him to explain to his mother why he is late arriving home. The lesson George learns in this story is to keep his mouth shut. After all, the principal only called him to her office to see if he would become a member of the school patrol. The colorful illustrations and text arrangement will be aesthetically pleasing to young readers. This book can be used to teach young readers a lesson about openness, patience, and not blaming others for their own mistakes.
