Fun story, well illustrated, about friendship, being patient, and good behavior that really resonates with toddlers and preschoolers. But not didactic. Picture books that try to teach behavior lessons often fall into the trap of being didactic. Not this one! The story and characters come first. There is no preaching, just a good understanding of the child psyche and an entertaining twist at the end.
