Overview

A vampire loose in Kansas City? Ridiculous!

But what of those women who'd been drained of blood? Absurd!

Even though no blood was found at the crime scenes, causing some to speculate that a vampire had drunk it? Got to be some rational explanation for that!

How, then, do you account for the bites on the victims' necks, "teeth marks" deep enough to puncture the women's jugulars? Could have been caused by anything!

And the black caped figure seen by an eye witness? Superstition--completely out of place in the 20th century!

Until the "blood hit the fan," Big Bob Zapolska--Z for short--had been minding his own business (as much as a lowlife P.I. can, and still make a living.)

It was lieutenant Addison of the Kansas City, Missouri cops who'd dragged Z in on this case, the vamp now threatening to "put the bite on" Z's women: his long time steady, Susan Halliwell, and his sometimes "roll in the hay," Jamie Stewart. Though the best way to guard the girls was to put Susan and Jamie in a house under his protection, that course of action set up the nasty possibility that sweet Susan and nasty little Jamie would do what came natural to the female of the species--share sexy secrets. A disaster for Z that beat the threat of mythic monsters by a mile!
