Although the storyline is slow at times, overall, this novel is a fast-paced romance. The characters are memorable, and the story explores not only love, but interpersonal relationships. And I'm not sure but I think there was some confusion, was Tony & Nick the same guy...because in the beginning it talked about Tony being Ronnie's father figure, but then it started talking about someone named Nick and you heard no more about Tony...it totally threw me. This debut novel had alot going for it. She had a wonderful idea, I liked the way she started the story. It had me completely captivated until she threw in some monkey wrench along the way with Veronica's own misgivings about the relationship. I'd rather she focused on one or the other, instead of both. By the time Veronica decided to try with Aljeandro, she ended the story and put in an Epilogue. I felt it left you hangin' a little bit, I wanted more before she wrapped up the story. The ending came too quickly and it didn't hold enough detail to leave you satisfied. But overall it was a good first attempt.

No Holding back is an excellent read. It tells a story of how opposites attract and how they cope with their feelings of love/lust for one another. I recommend this book to anyone who is an avid reader. Hopefully, this isn't the first and last time we'll hear from D.E. Arrington.
