Overview

One woman, one man, and a love that won’t let either of them go.

Born on the wrong side of the tracks and dealt a fair share of hardship, Nikki Kline never gives up a fight. Even when her reason to keep going is ripped from her, Nikki tries desperately to hang on. But when the man who broke Nikki’s heart comes back into her life she doesn’t know how much she can take. Especially since that man seems determined to win back her damaged heart.

Wade Lightfoot is a man who knows he’s made more mistakes than most. As much as he would like to repair the damage he’s done to those he loves, Wade also knows there is no going back. But when he sets out to put things right the last thing he’s prepared to find out is that he had a son. A son he’ll never get the chance to meet.

When the truth is out and all the old wounds are bared, it seems impossible that Nikki and Wade will find their way back to each other. But true love is an undeniable force that even past hurts can’t destroy.

I have read many of Shiloh Walker's books. This is a different sort of book. I am a fan of erotic romance. This is not an erotic romance. I am an avid reader and this is the best book I have ever read!!! This book is filled with so many feelings and emotions. It is gripping from beginning to end. You will fall in love with all of the characters. You will not be disappointed!!!

Loved the overall story and the chase that Chase endured. Hoped for more of an ending, an epilogue would have been awesome.

I cried all through this book. Written very well because you feel for the character and what they went through. Definitely not a fast paced book in my opinion. All in all, good book. Highly recommended.

This is a great book. Definitely one of the best I have ever read. It's so heart breaking yet gives hope. Almost brought me to tears yet I couldn't put it down. A must read!

This book is one of the best books I have ever read. Its filled with " real world" drama and raw emotions. As a ultrasoud tech my job is to care for women who often are losing their baby. The grief decribed in this book is gut wrenching, soul sucking, palpable thing. The grief described in this book was exactly what I see when I look into my patients eyes. But like any real life story love often finds away to help endure a loss. As love grows so does hope. Enjoy:)

Then this is the book for you. Shiloh Walker had me tearing up by page 28 and the emotions just kept on coming. Ms. Walker wrote an amazing love story and takes you with the heroine/hero through all their emotions.

[Aww. Thank you. That feels really good, coming from you.]
The fire that rages within me
Is akin to the burning love I once felt for him.
The rapid tendrils of blazing heat envelope my heart
And crushes it to pieces.
The exhillerating sunburst flames wave their deadly welcome.
Like our first kiss, a mere vision of the painful future to come.
The aching of my fragile soul as I remember,
Is like a miraculous fire in the frigid winter snow.
I want to reach out and feel it's warmth, to give in to the emotional temptation.
But the flames bite, leaving me with a nostalgic longing for what is mine no longer.
The layered, vivid hues bring me back to when our love was true.
No hidden deceptions stowed away, deep under goo-goo eyes and a lover's touch.
It was flat and simple.
But it was the best I ever had.
The unpredictable flickering reminds me of the off and on.
We fight, we break up.
But we were always ready to start again.
And that's what kept me on edge.
And the tendency to go out.
That will never let me forget.
When our last spark was blown away by angry words and rash actions.
And all I was left with was the cold furnace, the empty chambers of my heart.
Filled with the dirty ashes of remorse.
&infin [Anonymous] &infin

As someone who knws what it's like to lose a child my heart bleeds for Nikki. Both characters had issues to work through but carrying the scars of losing the love of ur life and than your child is unrepairable. GREAT writing that drew me in and I found myself rooting for Nikki to keep on fighting. I really wish there was a follow up on this book!!!!
