In 1985 I was greatful to hear of Dr. Hufnagel's work at that time it was indeed "pioneering work" in saving women's uteruses. Because of the advent of laser technology this could be done with little or no loss of blood. I saw Dr. Hufnagel interviewed on Donahue and immediately contacted her. I was treated with sensitive concern and my 4-1/2 hr surgery miraculously rapidly healed and I was back at work in 10 days. I was so impressed with Dr. Hufnagel I worked closely with her for 6 mos as a patient advocate counseling women from all over the world who, having been given no hope by their own drs, were, under the skillful care of Dr. Hufnagel, restored to "wholeness" with many being able to have children where all hope had been given up. Dr. Hufnagel is a militent trailblazer in a world that doesn't take kindly to "cure". Why, because there is too much $$ in sickness and keeping one sick with further complications. I pulled the reference material at UCLA Library for this book and my letter is the first one that starts the book. I also flew to Sacramento with her to [successfully] get senate bill 835 passed that change the consent laws to requiring that women be notified upon being given a procedure with anethtesia, to be awoken to give consent whether or not they want their organs removed. Bravo to Dr. Hufnagel! My eternal gratitude to her for what has turned out to be a thankless task This book is an important book that every woman should have in her library Tricia Aude

I have been told by 8 gynecologists in a 19 year period that I had no choice but to have a hysterectomy due to painful periods, small fibroids and PMS! I was so excited to read a book written by a DOCTOR that contradicted all of the nonsense that I had been told all of these years about hysterectomies. My body belongs to ME and 'No More Hysterectomies' empowered me to believe in myself and to move forward in my search to find a doctor that cared about ME. This book should be read by ALL women and MEN whether there is a medical problem or not. The stories are real and identifiable in some way by everyone. Thank you Dr. Hufnagel for planting yourself firmly and doing what you know is right!
