Amazon Best-Selling Romance ~ The Mathews Family Series

Life isn’t about tomorrow ~ Life is about today

After losing her husband to a sudden heart attack, Tess Mathews escapes to Bora Bora to lay her husband and sorrow to rest. What she doesn’t expect is a new beginning.
Tom Clemmins is an A-list actor whose life revolves around work and an onslaught of women. He travels to Bora Bora for a much-needed break. Tom has a few ideas of how he’ll enjoy his vacation, but love isn’t one of them. Until he sees Tess.
Reserving a private shark-feeding excursion to scatter her husband’s ashes into the lagoon, Tess is furious when Mr. Hollywood bribes his way onto the boat, leaving her no other choice but to share the boat ride.
Tess is torn between tremendous guilt and zealous lust when their boat ride turns into a week full of romance and desire neither thought imaginable. Utterly smitten with a woman for the first time in his life, Tom casts his commitment phobia aside and whisks Tess off to Malibu where he introduces her as his “girlfriend” on the red carpet.
As the paparazzi besiege, can Tess survive the media blitz that ensues in order to find her second chance at love?

Meet the Author

Bestselling author of No More Wasted Time and Shayla's Story. For the past twenty-one years, Beverly Preston has been a stay at home mom, although she prefers the title Domestic Engineer, raising her four amazing kids. Along the way, Beverly worked side by side with her husband Don, the love of her life, designing, building and selling custom homes. As her children begin to venture out on their own, she’s left to shed a tear—for a minute—wonder what’s next in life, and embrace the feeling of empowerment that surely must’ve been wrapped in a present she received on her fortieth birthday.

If Beverly isn’t at home riding her spin bike, you’ll find her spinning richly emotional and sinfully sexy romance stories.

    Awesome Read!

This book was empowering, inspiring, and sinfully sexy. It had just the right amount of humor, steaminess, and romance. Can't wait for more books from this author!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed 'No More Wast

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed 'No More Wasted Time'.  Such a touching, sweet love story with just enough drama to keep me on the edge of my seat.  I couldn't put it down.  Beverly Preston is a master at pulling out all the emotions in one book.  She begins with sorrow, adds laughter, joy, anger, betrayal, and ultimately such a strong, uncompromising love.  What began as an intimate affair, turned into a rebirth for all the characters.  I miss Richard, too, but love how understanding Tom is at all times.  A grown up love story.  I am so amazed at the masterful way this book has been written.  It is destined to be a classic.  I know that I will reread it many times!

    Must Read!

The author had the perfect amount of everything you need in a good book: romance, humor, and adventure; you never know what is going to happen next! The story line was creative, which resulted in myself not being able to set the book down. The author's personality shined throughout the novel, giving it life, which most books don't have. Don't wait any longer, and start reading. You'll love it!

I loved this book.  A great story about a lost love and a second

I loved this book.  A great story about a lost love and a second chance at love for people in their 40’s… with family, fun and excitement involved.  After reading the descriptive parts about Bora Bora… I want to go for sure.  I totally enjoyed reading about the ups and downs of Tess and Tom’s relationship.    Thank you for the great read Beverly Preston.  Can’t wait to read Shayla’s Story (The Matthews Family Book 2)

Very Romantic! Tess returns to Bora Bora to say a final goodbye

    Very Romantic!

Tess returns to Bora Bora to say a final goodbye to her deceased husband, Richard. What was to be a very personal journey of letting go and moving on turns into something so much more.

It’s been a long time since a story has touched my heart as much as this one did. Tess and Tom’s journey was very emotional and romantic. Their attraction surprised them both but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.

Words to live by; No More Wasted Time. The realization that life is short and there are no guarantees in life. There is no room for guilt or missed opportunities. Everyday has to be lived to the fullest and our happiness has to come first.

This amazing love story will renew your faith in second chances, fate and the power of love at any age!

No More Wasted Time has been on my kindle for what feels like forever!  I finally decided to step away for signing up for so many tours, and read something that I have been wanting to read for a while!
I have throughly enjoyed this book.  I loved the story line, even though at times I felt it was slow paced or more like I should be further in the book than what my % showed.
I loved that the characters were mature adults that were established in who they were and what they wanted.  I love that they took a risk on each other in Bora Bora.  I honestly think one of my favorite parts of the book is about half way through the book... when Tom surprises Tess with an extended vacation... I thought it was super cute how he took the time to make sure her girls knew she was ok!  I also loved how Tom always put Tess first... in everything, it is a great story about a mature relationship... & how love should be!  Finding your soul mate, and being together forever!  It's like a an adult happily ever after!
I really enjoyed this book, and am glad it is now off my TBR list!  If you want a read that is about mature adults, but still hot and steamy... this is your read :)

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

There is one thing that all good books need: conflict. Without conflict, a story becomes dull. What point is there in turning the pages? What is there to keep us reading? In the absence of conflict, we at least better have dynamic, magnetic characters.

In the case of this book, there is very little conflict – and what there is is quickly dispensed with – and the characters, while interesting and entertaining, are not all that dynamic or magnetic. Yet … I did enjoy the book, even if it occasionally bored me.

Tess and Tom make for a different kind of couple, if for no other reason than they’re both middle aged. She’s a forty-four-year-old mother of three grown children (she got married at nineteen), and he’s a forty-nine-year-old hot movie star. These two are at a point in their lives that is not exactly synonymous with “hot sex.” But, boy, do they have some hot sex, international style. They visit Bora Bora, Italy, Greece, California, Colorado, and Las Vegas. They rock the headboard with gusto. Not that the love making is explicit; it really isn’t, at least not on an erotica scale, although these two certainly are prolific.

Beverly Preston creates interesting, if not intriguing or compelling, characters in Tess and Tom. We root for them to be together, because they become the people they want to be as they become a couple. It’s nice, and it’s hopeful and that, in essence, is this book. It’s nice. It has some hot love scenes, and two likable characters, so even if it doesn’t have any conflict, it’s still a pleasant read.
