Overview

An empty hot air balloon drops into a lake in sight of a Police Chief Wallace Fossick and a female TV reporter, April Miller fishing. The mystery unfolds, attempting first to identify the owner of the balloon. That done, then identifying a woman who apparently fell from it. In the meantime the two become romatically involved and are forced to confront their mutually exclusive life styles and goals.
