"No One" Trilogy, Part Two

I am not sure how this book relates to Dane`s previous title, "No One Heard Her Scream". None of the previous book`s characters reappear or are mentioned. However, once again the female lead is a strong woman who is reluctant to be dependent on a man. There is plenty of drama and twists that will keep the reader reading. Fans of Allison Brennan or Brenda Novak will enjoy the tale.

I have to start this review by saying that, an avid lifelong paintball player, I have never seen paintballs used in a more insidious fashion EVER, lol In Dane's second offering, she displays every hallmark of becoming one of the great authors of our time. Her characters are believable in thier strengths, weaknesses, personalities, and quirks. Friendships, romances, and adverserial relationships are portrayed in a realistic fashion that makes you like the good guys and love to hate the baddies. Protagonist cop Raven MacKenzie and her partner Tony have an especially nice relationship, a teasing friendship without a hint of sexual tension, so true of best friends of the opposite sex. As Raven investigates a murder 'where paintballs do in fact play a pivital role', she is forced to team up with Christian Delecorte, a good guy who hates the cops with good reason 'or are his reasons good?'. 'Oh, yes, and he has a thing for paintball...' As in her first novel, Dane throws many twists and curveballs our way, presents a budding romance, and an intruiging mystery. If her future books prove to be half this good, they're to be read on prinicple alone. Dane knows how to tell a story and keep you absorbed from beginning to end. You root for the characters you're meant to root for, hate the ones your meant to hate, and just plain aren't sure how to feel about the ones you're meant to be uncertain about. Another wonderfully engaging offering by an author who promises to keep us entertained for years to come. It goes without saying: We'll be hearing a lot more from Jordan Dane. If the universe is just and the readers wise, before long, she'll rank up there with some of the great crime authors in history.

Wow

After being disappointed by "kill alex cross", i went for a cheap read and surprise! Found jordan dane. Wonderful storyline. Step aside, patterson. No more $$$ wasted on your books. Easy read, but thoroughly enjoyable!

superb Chicago mean streets investigative thriller

Chicago homicide detectives Raven Mackenzie and Tony Rodriguez investigate the brutal murder of Dunhill Corporation security agent Mickey Blair near downtown¿s St. Sebastian¿s Chapel. The firm¿s chief Fiona Dunhill demands the cops work with the head of security, Christian Delacorte, if they want her cooperation. Having no choice although far from pleased with taking on a civilian ¿rookie¿ the detectives acquiesce, but Delacorte objects also though he too ultimately agrees. --- She does not trust him since there is a link between a message left at the murder scene and the slaughter of his family two decades ago while he thinks cops are failures after watching them bungle the investigation into his family¿s murders. When her partner is nearly killed, Raven and Christian think Fiona, who raised him, knows how the modern day homicides link to his past, but she is not telling even as a killer plans for NO ONE LEFT TO TELL. --- This second No One Left To tale is a superb Chicago mean streets investigative thriller with a solid supporting romantic subplot. Filled with twists from the grave as much as from the chapel, the story line is fast-paced as secrets surface. Fans who appreciate a dark crime thriller starring a likable couple falling in love while on the case will appreciate Jordan Dane¿s entertaining walk on the side of Chicago Ferris Bueller avoided. --- Harriet Klausner

Took a chance with this author and it was a good read!!

The suspense kept me going, the length of the book was perfect, and with a little bit of romance, always a great combination. I would definitely recommend this!

I liked it

I liked this book. I some that some books of this length tend to be lacking some developing. With this book though, I felt I got my moneys worth. I enjoyed the book.
