Overview

Trapped in a loveless marriage, living in the small community of Coral Isle, Florida, Topher Scott feels his life spinning out of his control. After one last attempt to save his relationship ends with Topher finding his wife in the arms of another man, he is jarred to the realization that he needs to confront her, and end their marriage. However, before he is able to do this, he finds himself the sole subject of a police investigation, having been discovered holding his wife's lifeless body, covered in her blood, his fingerprints staining the murder weapon.
As the evidence mounts against him, Topher's only remaining hope is Mike Ryan, a retired FBI agent who is brought in to lend an objective eye to the investigation. However, the evidence that he turns up keeps disappearing, and his gut instinct, though usually accurate, is not enough to set the young suspect free. At the same time, the real killer is on the loose, silently carrying out a carefully conceived plan of revenge, patiently awaiting the moment that he can carry out his most important act of retribution, taking down one of the town's most powerful men.
Mike works diligently, racing against time to prevent both the wrongful conviction of an innocent man, while at the same time averting the deaths of any further victims, including the woman he is beginning to fall for.

This is the best book that I've ever read by a new author! The storyline grabs your attention at the beginning and holds it until the last page, with many plot twists and surprises along the way. I had to force myself to put this one down so that I could get other things done. The only problem I had with it was that it was such a page-turner, it caused me to lose some sleep!
