Overview

In No Rules, Dan S. Kennedy debunks twenty-one treasured maxims to show would-be millionaires that the ideas they thought were helping them were actually holding them back. For instance: * Forget everything you were ever told about positive thinking. Optimism is helpful, but blind optimism is just plain stupid. Identify and plan for every possible objection or setback that could come your way, or be prepared to be thrown for some real loops. * The customer is not always right. Make an effort to understand people's dissatisfaction, but a pain in the neck is a waste of time. Be prepared to "fire" customers who are never satisfied and concentrate on those you can make happy. * Forget about creativity. Plain, ordinary ideas make people rich every day, as long as they are willing to work very, very hard at the run-of-the-mill things they do. No Rules is filled with real-life stories of ordinary people who have looked tradition square in the face and rejected itùfrom a group of airport massage therapists to basketball player/celebrity Dennis Rodmanùshining examples of people who have taken their destinies into their own hands and achieved success beyond their wildest expectations. As important for those who think they have mastered the rules of business as for those just starting out, this energetic, plain-talking guide offers practical advice to help anyone become a successful entrepreneur.

Facts you need to know to succeed in anything.

The first thing you need to know is that Dan practices what he preaches. Unlike many academics and self-help gurus that deal in theory, Dan applies his own advice every day in his own business, and is phenomenal at cutting through the b.s. to get to what counts. This book is one of the best distillations of how a successful business philosophy revolves around your own self-image. I highly recommend this book as a great place to learn the basics that you need to know when becoming an entrepreneur or as a great review of everything you have forgotten after years in business. It doesn't get any more clear than this.
