Angell follows No Strings Attached with a delightful third book set in the quirky boardwalk town of Barefoot William and incorporating her even more popular Richmond Rogues baseball series. Jill Mac and her friend Carrie are in Florida to build fan support for the Rogues’ new spring training facility, which will be built by handsome Aidan Cates, successful contractor and part of the family that runs the town. After Jill impulsively masquerades as a psychic and predicts Aidan’s breakup with his current girlfriend, he is intrigued and pursues Jill. Few obstacles slow down this romance, but Aidan and Jill’s convincing relationship, as well as a matching one between Carrie and Aidan’s second-in-command, dour Mike, and cameos by characters from previous books are appealing, and the author’s lighthearted approach and warmth of the spring sunshine make this a winner. 4.5 Stars

I was excited to find out there was another Barefoot Williams story.  I have loved this series from the very beginning.  No Sunshine When She’s Gone was the perfect backyard read for me this weekend.

Jillie and Carrie have come to Barefoot William for the next year or so.  They work for the Rogues Organization and are in town to promote interest in the Richmond Rogues.  Aidan and Mike are building the training facility for the Richmond Rogues.  Two sets of friends working on separate sides of the same coin that are destined to merge and share amazing futures.

I found Jillie charming from the very start.  She is a free spirit, but at times I couldn’t totally agree with her choices.  She is larger than life, but is surprisingly blind to the beauty around her sometimes.

Aidan.  He is a wonderful character.  A little withdrawn, but has such a giving heart.  In the beginning he surprised me with his decisions regarding his girlfriend, but when he made up his mind about Jillie, he melted my heart.  Not to mention Sadie.  His treatment of her alone won me over.

I can’t really mention Jillie and Aidan without talking about the second couple in the book, Carrie and Mike.  I remember last night just salivating for their next scene together.  They were a couple that had an amazing journey.  Mike was a jerk 99% of the time and Carrie was way too sweet and forgiving, but I’m glad they seen beyond the others protective facade’s and allowed their relationship to blossom.  They are in my opinion shining stars in this story.

No, that goes to Olive.  You’ll have to read the story to find out about her.  Loved her in the first book and I think I may love her even more now.

No Sunshine When She’s Gone is a fantastic story.  You get drawn into the beauty of Barefoot William and don’t want to leave.  With the people of Barefoot William greeting you with open arms and a story that draws you in; be sure you have a comfy chair and a cool drink, because you are in for a sweet summer getaway.

What a great book!! So happy to travel back to Barefoot William. I adore the easy flowing writing style of Kate Angell and the way she ties her two series together is brilliant. All the secondary character are fun and add great depth to her storytelling. This is one that should be at the top of any summer reading list.

No Sunshine When She's Gone by Kate Angell takes us back to the fun and quirky town of Barefoot William.

Aidan Cates loves the fun and breezy world of his hometown. Aidan is a straight shooter and has little use for secrets. When a psychic on the boardwalk sabotages his current relationship he is none to happy especially after he finds out the woman was not even part of the event.

Jillie Mac is the polar opposite of the man she tricks into believing she is a psychic. She was only having some much needed fun before she gets to work on being the liaison for the Richmond Rogues new spring training facility. Since Aidan is the contractor for this facility Jillie and Aidan will be working closely.

What started out as a case of mistaken identity turns into a once in a lifetime romance. Aidan is strong and steady so different then anything Jillie has had in her life. Will she be able to put her faith in Aidan and let this relationship grow some roots?

The secondary romance between Jillie's assistant Carrie and Aidan's best friend Mike is just as delightful as the primary romance.

No Sunshine When She's Gone is a like a warm summer day. Plenty of sunshine to brighten any ones day.  The chemistry between Jillie and Aidan sends off sparks even from the beginning when they didn't really know each other. Watching it grow and change is a joy.  Looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series. ¿

Fun-packed Romance, Humor, and Lots warm summer nights!

I felt an immediate connection to newfound author, Kate Angell, and fellow Floridan, in Southwest, Florida (loved her bio as sounds as though she loves life, and her passion is reflective in her work).

As I reside on the Southeast Florida coast, always enjoy traveling to the west side of the state, whether a road trip for the weekend via car to charming areas of Siesta Key, Sarasota, Naples or Tampa. Or, frequently, when I do not have the time to make the drive across the state, I enjoy being transported, via a good read to the area. The lives and the people are always different on both sides of Florida (when you are an insider-you know).

The romantic novel opens in a charming beachside town in Florida - Barefoot William, with wealthy and sexy, Aidan Cates at a Psychic Fair along the boardwalk with his date Lila. (I love astrology, and my favorite thing to do – a tarot card reading)--my last one in New Orleans most definitely came true). Immediately was pulled in, along with the stunning front cover.

Aidan, a skeptic who happens to be with Lila at the fair, when Lila suggests a reading (she wants to be married, as biological clock is ticking), and he is not interested. They sit down at a table thinking they are getting a reading with psychic, Aeries Martine. Aidan is indeed shocked when the psychic informs Lila she is in love with Roger (her boss and owner at Sleek Magazine, a confirmed bachelor), and she is using Aidan to make him jealous. She thought if she dated someone equally as wealthy and handsome as Roger that she would get his attention-however, her little plan backfired.

Of course, Aidan is relieved, as he gives him the opportunity to break free as he is not ready for marriage. On the other hand, Lila’s little secret comes out and she has neither man.

Another surprise, the gal giving the reading is not Aerie. The imposter is none other than impulsive, Jillian Mac! Wow, twice deceived in one day- how did she know about this deception? This is only the beginning of fun for Jill and sexy, Aidan.

For sure, Jill captures Aidan’s attention- he is intrigued, begins his pursuit, and the sparks continue. Jill Mac and her friend Carrie (works for Jillian) happen to be in Florida to build fan support for the Rogues’ new spring training facility, which will be built by handsome Aidan Cates, successful contractor and part of the family that runs the town.

With two unlikely couples and different pasts (also another match going on between Carrie and Aidan’s second in command, Mike and evidently characters from previous books, which I have not read), with lots of twists--this could be a standalone; however, would like to read the earlier books in the series to connect with all the characters.

Fun-packed with Florida sunshine days, long summer nights of romance and humor, a lighthearted fun read for spring and lazy summer days on the beach!

A special thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for providing an ARC, in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
