Overview

Many who know of Fr. Donald know him because of his conversion story. He has spoken of it at conferences, on television, radio, online, and wherever he can spread the message. This book finally captures in print how Divine Mercy, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, touched his life.

In his own words, No Turning Back recounts Fr. Donald's personal story of conversion after reading a book about Our Lady.

Though today he is a devout Catholic Marian priest, Fr. Donald's early years were no indication of what was to come. Before his conversion to Catholicism, he was a high school dropout who had been kicked out of a foreign country, institutionalized twice and thrown in jail multiple times. Discovering a book on Our Lady led to his conversion and ardent love of Mary and the Church.

Editorial Reviews

Peter - Peter Kreeft, Ph.D., Author – I Surf, Therefore I Am: A Philosophy of Surfing
This is an amazing, captivating story because The Divine Mercy is an amazing and captivating reality. The power of Jesus and Mary move through this story like the power of a 10-foot Pacific wave. Read this book and watch the same wave lift Donald Calloway that lifted Paul and Augustine, Francis and Ignatius, from “incorrigible” and “impossible” to “radically converted.” It’s the old, old story, and it’s irresistibly new every time...
Scott - Scott Hahn, Ph.D., Professor of Theology and Scripture Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio
An inspiring story of a truly amazing conversion. You will be thrilled to read how our Lord redirected this man’s passion from a life of crime to a love for Jesus and Mary, and for surfing! If Hollywood had faith the size of a mustard seed, Father Calloway’s story would be in the movies already. It’s a page-turner, moving from a delinquent youth to an adult faith — and then on to the priesthood...

This is a wonderful story of how someone who was totally lost - drugs, gangs, alcohol - can find direction, peace and mercy through God. It would make a great gift for a struggling teen or adult. Easy to read and written with language anyone can understand, it is reminicent of another classic, Run Baby Run. While that book is dated for the younger audience, Fr. Calloway's book is fresh and significant to anyone born in the 60's, 70's. Loved it.
