After getting involved with Dylan, the bad boy of the Dixon High Swim team, Charley decides to stay close to home for college. It's just safer that way. Later, she realizes it's a mistake, just like dating Dylan. She decides to put the past behind her and leave the small hick town of Grassy Pond. There is only one problem; she makes this decision three weeks before the fall semester begins.

Charley packs up her Honda and heads to Southern College. On the morning she's about to leave, Cash walks back into her life. He has been her best friend since they were four and is the only one who knows the REAL Charley. She leaves her farm in Grassy Pond with all kinds of "what if" questions.

Charley decides to live her college career to the fullest. She finds a great group of friends, joins the swim team, and meets a guy named Joe. He's got eyes that make ya wanna melt!

Wow! This book was amazing. It's really hard for me to write a non spoiler review, but no worries I won't include any spoilers.

In the beginning of the book Charley is dating Dylan. Something happens and she ends the relationship by totally avoiding him. Cash (who Charley calls Cash Money) is her rock. Charley describes Cash as her "knight in an F250 and a pair of Carhartts." I love that description of Cash. Charley goes off to college and Cash stays on the farm. Charley loves Cash but she wants to experience college and find herself. Cash is fine with that. Cash tells her, "I am willing to wait, continue being your best friend, boyfriend, continue being your rock, but I'm not leaving you ever again."

While at college Charley becomes friends with the girls on her dorm floor. She also meets Joe. Joe seems to be the perfect person for Charley to explore college with. Charley goes back and forth between Joe and Cash. Both Joe and Cash know about each other and form a friendship.

The characters were well written, which allows the reader to bound quickly with them. The end of the book took a turn I never expected. There's a huge cliffhanger. You are definitely left wanting more.

OMG, what a page turner.  I really enjoyed the story and the characters.  Although the beginning was a bit slow to start and a few things were repeated unnecessarily.  There were a few things mentioned in the beginning that didn't get expanded on, that I thought needed it.  That is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.  Overall a great read and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.  I definitely recommend this book!

    Great book

I always did have a bad feeling about Joe. Just never felt comfortable around him. Over all it was a great book. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because there was a lot of 'country talking' which I totally understand why and every thing. CASH MONEY!! I love that guy. Have since he went to go and check on Joker. I cant wait 'til they have "Cash babies"!!

Charley has experienced something horrible with boyfriend Dylan.

Charley has experienced something horrible with boyfriend Dylan. Cash, the neighbor boy whom she's known forever, comes to her rescue. He has seen her at her worst and wants to give her the world.

It's time for Charley to decide if she is going to college or if she's going to stay and work on the farm. After looking at a couple colleges she decides Southern is the place for her...not too big and not too small. She meets a guy at college and decides it's time to be honest with Cash. She tells him she wants to experience college and not be tied down, even though she does love Cash. Joe becomes a huge part of her everyday college life.

On Charley's 18th birthday she receives a card from ex Dylan. She instantly starts freaking out and doesn't want to open the card. She decides to wait and open it with Cash when she goes home¿. Inside the card are pictures of her, Joe and her friends from high school. Apparently Dylan has been keeping tabs on her and her friends...creepy.

As the story goes on, Dylan becomes more and more of a creep. He's got someone on the inside watching Charley. Between Joe and Cash, they make sure she is never in danger of Dylan.

Liked the book very much.  I DID NOT LIKE that it was continued at the end.  I bought the 2nd book only to find that it is also continued at the  end.  Very Disappointed at that.  When I buy a book, I expect to be able to finish it , not go into a soap opera.

Read first 50 pages and dumped book.

Story very thin. College student needs to get her head together. The whole story revolved around college drinking, partying. Not much plot.

I could not even get past page 30 (I'm surprised I even made it that far). This book is awful! It's tediously detailed with poor writing and narration. But the part that bothered me the most was her reaction to her rape. I just wanted to yell at the book that just because he raped her (stole her "treasure") doesn't make her unlovable or have no value!!!!!

    Worst book ever. .

This book was starting out good in the first chapter, but once you continue reading it goes on and on about nonsense. Would definitely not recommend this book at all.

Couldnt make it past the first chapter

This book was awful. Bland. I was annoyed with the weak main character from the first few pages, but tried to give her a second chance and kept reading, but the storyline continued to stall. It glossed over and went very quickly past the material that could have been it's own amazing book. Maybe when I'm in a much more patient mood, and dont have other books that sound so much more interesting, I'll give this book another try. Until then, its on the bottom of my 'To Read' list.

The summer after graduation, Charley has to make some decisions

The summer after graduation, Charley has to make some decisions – does she stick with her original decision to go to college close to home or is this her chance to get away from the small town farm life and figure out who she is? She’s scared her parents will hate her if she doesn’t go where they expect her to, but her mom only wants her daughter to be happy. So at the last minute, Charley and her mom visit some schools, and of course options are limited. A couple weeks later, Charley is packing up to head to Southern College!

Her first day at Southern, Charley makes some new friends that she knows will play a huge role in her college experience. She also meets Joe – the HOT blonde surfer boy with the bluest eyes you’ve ever seen. She feels an attraction to him immediately but she’s learned the hard way that the hot, popular, bad boy isn’t the kind of guy she needs. And she also feels guilty because she knows Cash is at home waiting for her.

Cash has lived on the farm next door to Charley’s for as long as she can remember and he’s just a good ol’ sexy country boy. He’s made sure Charley knows he’s there for her whenever she’s ready, but she feels she needs to live a little while at school. Will she open herself up to Joe and give him a chance, leave her past behind? Or will she stick with Cash because he’s the only one who truly knows her and has always been there for her, especially through the hardest time in her life? Can she ever really get away from the past or will it continue to haunt her?

I loved this book so much and Charley should be my best friend! She’s your genuine home-grown country girl – she loves fishing, hunting, working on her family’s farm, and she’s not afraid to get dirty, but she also loves to dress up and go have some fun. She’s real and doesn't change for anybody. I’m from the country myself and I can totally relate to the characters in this book, as well as Hank’s Tavern and Turtle’s Pool Hall, and I love me some Choice Cherry Gold! No Turning Back is an awesome debut novel from the even more awesome Casey Peeler and I’m looking forward to seeing her grow as an author. And I need to know what happens with Charley, like NOW…Finding Charley to be released in the Spring of 2014 but I can’t wait that long!
