Overview

No Weapon is the second book in the Christian Fiction GOOD NEWS SERIES

Some time has passed since ENOUGH GOOD NEWS and Sidney is settled into her new family, new job and new church. She soon discovers however that all that glitters isn't gold and everyone talking about heaven ain't going.

Weak church leaders fall easily under the influence of dark forces targeting Sidney. These "men of God" begin to spread lies and false rumors about her to everyone they can, turning most of her family and friends against her, not realizing that they are leaving their own families and congregations open for the destruction they have planned for Sidney.

It is with all this going on that God seems to be nowhere in sight, but don't worry...God is not mocked and sometimes He provides help in the most unexpected ways.

Editorial Reviews

Debra Johnson
No Weapon is the riveting follow-up novel to Audrey McKay’s first book Enough Good News. It continues a few years after Enough Good News ended. (My review for Enough Good News can be found here. This review may contain spoilers for those who have not read that novel first). Instead of focusing on Sidra’s story, it focuses on the tale of Sidney Lyons and how her life has changed since accepting the Lord. When Enough Good News ended, the reader was left feeling hopeful, but uncertain

"No Weapon" is a book that shows how easily jealousy and gossip can destroy the life of a person, a church and even a community. Young Sidney Lyons is doing well and the Lord is preparing her for His use. Several visiting preachers notice this and prophesy to the young lady, even asking her Pastor to nurture her. However, because of jealousy and later, demonic obsession, he launches a campaign to destroy her instead. Several people are hired to find dirt on Sidney. They hack into her social networking accounts and email and place surveillance equipment on her car as in her home. Her job is targeted and even her own aunt gets in on the whole game. But Sidney was not forgotten. The Lord sent her a protector to help her through her situation.

The premise of this book may be a bit terrifying but it is very close to the truth. It is a warning about the dangers of jealousy and gossip. Very often, we hear only a tiny bit of information regarding a situation and we create our own impression of the whole. People’s characters and lives are destroyed because of our ignorance. No weapon is a real eye-opener. Some Pastors are so threatened by their flock that instead of nurturing them as they should, they stifle their gifts. This was a very interesting read which held my attention to the end. I found myself rooting for the heroine and almost praying for her. I highly recommend this read for any Christian.
