Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Flood stories seem to be present in many cultures and for those who practice Christianity and Judaism, the story of Noah and the Ark should be familiar. The world has become a corrupt place and God was displeased. He found one good man and his family, and instructed them to build an ark. God caused a great flood, which destroyed the people and animals. Noah had kept a male and female of each animal, and through them the earth was repopulated. From a scientific standpoint this story is implausible, but the lesson is clear. The evil ones were punished, but interestingly, God made a promise to never cause such a flood again, which is symbolized in the rainbow. There is a brief glossary at the back of the book. Part of the "My Very First Bible Stories" series. 2005, Good Books, Ages 1 to 5.
