Overview

King’s Cross Station, London, England, 2006
-“He’s killed again, Vex.” Vex stared at the grainy black and
white photos, taken one hundred and eighteen years earlier, comparing them to
the full color photos taken overnight. Detective Red O’Malley had no choice but
to ask for his help. Vex was their last resort. He was used to dealing with the
undead, whether it be of the blood sucker variety or the elusive shifter-rapt,
after all, he was a combination of the two.

Vex Savaker works as special detective for the Metropolitan Police and has been called to work on the recent Whitechapel killings. The murders resemble the autumn killings of 1888 when Jack-the-Ripper terrorized London. Chastity “Chass” Bartholomew is a seasoned investigative reporter working for London’s newspaper, The Daily Mirror. Chass’s virgin status is far too dangerous with a modern day Jack-the-Ripper on a virgin killing spree. Nunhead Cemetery is a hotbed of paranormal activity and unexplained phemomena but Chass is just too good of a reporter to stay away. Can Vex protect her from the night creatures of London and steer the killer away? Can he protect her from his own dark side, from the beasts within?

Two Lips Reviews - Barb Mazzuca
Rated 5 Stars ~ This is not your garden-variety serial killer. Alisha Paige takes the vampire and shapeshifter genres and puts a delightfully new slant on the paranormal world. It's not easy to come up with new ways to intrigue the reader but Ms. Paige has done just that. The static of the anticipated touch when the characters are mere inches from each other bounces off the pages right into the reader's lap. The shock when that first touch happens will make you shiver.

Meet the Author

Alisha Paige lives in the deep South with her husband and three children. She writes under the pen names Alisha Paige (paranormal, fantasy and vintage romance), Ruby Vines (romantic suspense and romantic comedy) and Wolfgang Pie (children’s fiction and young adult novels).

Canyon Wolf Bride was her debut novel in 2007. The book was nominated for best paranormal romance of 2007 by Long and Short Reviews and received rave reviews by Night Owl Romance, My Book Cravings, Two Lips Reviews, Coffee Time Romance and Fallen Angel Reviews. Her paranormal romance Circle City: Lord of the Wolfen sat on the best seller’s list at Amazon for ten weeks, causing a stir among the romance reading community, labeled by some readers as too dark, argued by others as seductively rich, dark paranormal romance at its finest.

She loves to mingle real life history with fiction while blending genres. Her characters have lived in Colorado, The Grand Canyon, Alaska, traveled to the Salem Witch Trials, visited the Italian Renaissance, traveled to Hades and back, romanced in Palm Beach, Florida, London, Africa, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. They have suffered through the Texas Dust Bowl, The Great Depression, The Holocaust and lived through the last great Ice Age when sabre tooth tigers and woolley mammoths walked the earth.

    Review:

Jack-the-Ripper is back! and Chastity Worthington is the reporter that is about to blow the lid right off the roof with the story. Stories like these happen only once and she is going to run with it until she gets the answers that will not only jump started her career right into the big league, that is if she can live long enough for all of that to happen. Meeting the mysterious and sexy Vex is not going to make staying alive any easier. Jack-the-Ripper is back and Chastity is hot on his trail and only Vex will be able to stop him and keep Chastiy from being his next victim. That is as long as Chastity doesn't distract Vex too much from what he needs to do.

Born from a bloodsucker and a shifter-rapt, Vex and his brothers have the unusual ability to sense when either is present. A handy ability when there are times you are there to kill a rogue troublemaker. What he senses about the “copy cat” Jack-the-Ripper is keeping him up at night. This is one of his people and only he can and must stop him before he disappears again, because right now Vex knows the Rippers what Chasity as his next victim. Who is Vex keeping Chastity safe from, himself or Jack? Right now, Vex isn’t sure which is more dangerous to her.

Vex’s challenge will be to keep Chastity alive, capture Jack, and keep everything that’s going on a secret. Piece of cake.

Alisha Paige takes the vampire and shape-shifter genres and puts a delightfully new slant on the paranormal world. It's not easy to come up with new ways to intrigue the reader but Ms. Paige has done just that. Trying to deny what is happening between them, makes that moment they can no longer resist explosive the sex more enticing and sends the reader into overdrive trying to keep the pages turning...yum.
The static of the anticipated touch when the characters are mere inches from each other bounces off the pages right into the reader's lap. The shock when that first touch happens will make you shiver. Got your attention? Good, because that along with the intriguing story is exactly what you will get when you pick up Alisha Paige's Nocturnally Vexed.
