Noetic Lore: Poetry
For Bobbi Jo the poem becomes a way to express what she is feeling on the inside. Manifested thoughts translated into text. A verbally non-verbal expression of thought. Some are created with pen to paper. Scratched and scribbled until the piece emerges from the inked chaos. Words written straight across the page while others are squeezed in the margins or squished in between the lines. Words lining the top or bottom and sometimes sides of the paper waiting to see if they will be used in the final piece. Then still others are typed into the computer and stored into files tucked neatly on her desktop.. The cursor blinking, counting seconds, to see if her fingers have finished dancing across the keyboard. Each has its own artistic flare of creative freedom. Enjoy this feast of poetry and find your favorite by reading this amazing lines.

About the Author

I was born and raised in Vermont and grew up in the small town of Bristol. As a child I was stuck in between wanting so badly to follow my extroverted heart but was bound by my extreme introverted shyness. This shyness followed me all through school and to Castleton State College where I studied and received a BA in Art. As shy as I was, I always considered myself non-verbally extroverted. I loved being the first one on the dance floor, playing sports and helping behind the scenes for event set-ups. In high school I learned a little about how to write poetry, albeit a small amount, it moved me. In poetry I was gifted a new avenue for getting out my emotions, that more accurately represented what I felt, than if I had opened my mouth to speak. September of 2012 I took my first poetry class through www.coursera.org. Learning about different kinds of poetry and the mechanics of poems has really sparked a renewed passion for the art. Poetry has been a way for me to translate the emotions I feel into words. Bridging verbal and non-verbal to vanquish the shy self and pull forth the strong outgoing self that laid dormant within.

I am the type person who has made a concerted effort to never forget to see the beauty all around myself. The way the clouds radiate beauty at sunset, the sight of fresh snow with the sun glowing down upon it shimmering the land, as well as seeing a wild creature such as a crane standing on a rock in the river. Little every day moments. I never want to take anything for granted. I also enjoy mystery and puzzles and things that make me think. Twisting meanings and word play is something I find fascinating. I am looking forward to continuing my writing using different techniques to provide myself and others with different ways to view things. Continual learning at any age is something I feel is quite important. I encourage everyone who reads this to take it as a challenge. Read more. Learn a new skill. Expand your knowledge and enjoy life!
