Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Noodle the panda bear returns in his sixth board book, in which textured accents let readers get up close and personal with farm animals: “Noodle loves the horses./ Noodle loves the sheep./ Noodle loves the cat./ Shh, she’s fast asleep.” All three of the aforementioned animals feature soft, woolly textures, while a pig and a pair of chickens are leathery and feathery, respectively. Billet’s digital artwork creates a cheery atmosphere that complements the sturdy, upbeat verse. Ages 1–3. (Jan.)
From the Publisher
Another appealing addition to the toddler-friendly Noodle series.

Children's Literature - Suzanne Javid
Start with something familiar. How about a farm? Add an interesting character such as Noodle, a young panda of nonspecific gender. Mix in "touch and feels" for little paws, rhyme, color and playfulness and you have a simple, simply irresistible board book. Digitally illustrated the uncluttered, colorful art is found on glossy thick pages with rounded corners. Noodle visits the farm and pets the horses, sheep, cat, rooster and do not forget the young piglet on the front cover or the surprise on the inside back cover. This title can be read over and over again with animal sounds, colors, and sizes being added. Because of the farm setting, there are many objects to spot and name, including the farmer's pitchfork. Four words on each of the first two double page spreads increase to four words on each page. It has thirty-three words in all and a character to love. Lots for young children and reader to talk about and explore. This is the first U.S. edition. Part of the "Noodle Book" series, other titles include Noodle Loves to Cuddle; Noodle Loves the Beach; Noodle Loves to Eat; Noodle Loves Bedtime; Noodle Loves to Drive; Noodle Loves the Park and Noodles Loves the Zoo. Kirkus Reviews
Noodle, a young panda of nonspecific gender, explores the farm in this touch-and-feel adventure. With mother in tow, Noodle meets the usual farm suspects: horses, sheep, chickens and more. Each of the farm residents gets its own double-page spread and one tactile element for little fingers to explore. A pig on the cover has pink, leathery skin, and the sheep has a fuzzy coat on an interior page. There is a nice variety of touch-and-feel elements, and most of them look sturdy enough for enthusiastic toddlers (the chicken "feathers" may be the first to go). As with Noodle Loves to Drive (2012), the last spread features a Mylar mirror, in the shape of the cows' watering hole, to bring the child reader into the book. One or two lines of rhyming text per page allow for nice pacing, "Noodle loves the horses. / Noodle loves the sheep. / Noodle loves the cat. Shh, she's fast asleep!" Another appealing addition to the toddler-friendly Noodle series. (Board book. 1-3)
