Do Not Waste Your Time or Energy

This is a complete and utter joke. Even for free, it is not worth the time to download. Crackerjacks boxes give more considered advice. Seriously, go talk to a guidance counselor or get a real book from the library if you're nervous about transitioning to college. This is not it. The "humor" is insulting at best.

I give it one star because I can't post a review with zero stars.

How can I rate it? You say it's free and then request a credit card...Everyone does not use credit cards.

    Section on Professors is terrible!

I downloaded the NOOKstudy program because I am investigating electronic text tools. I downloaded the "Survival Tips" to see the advice given, hoping that it would be useful information for students. I found the stereotypes of professors offensive and the advice given problematic at best. BN, if you're hoping to work with professors to make the NOOKstudy a useful tool that they encourage their students to use alongside etextbooks, you should pull this booklet and seriously think about the messages that you are sending to students about real learning. You have certainly not impressed me, and I will not be recommending your program to my university if this is an example of your pedagogical approach.

    Not used much too busy!

I've been so busy with school that I haven't been able to review this very much. Please don't take my word on it, look at it yourself.

    Shallow "tip" banter

Honestly this guide feels like it was written by an overly enthusiastic child psychologist and it falls short of being helpful at all. With the pathetic studying tips to the lame teacher stereotypes this guide is a waste of anyones time and is intellectually insulting.

    Enjoy!

Hilarious because it is true. College is what you make it and this will help you not to take it so deathly serious. Be serious but don't kill yourself with stress.

    Are they serious?

I purchased this ebook(let) with the thought that it might be helpful for my son as he left for college. It wasn't. Where to start? The author talked down to the reader (that is unless you were the one eight year-old entering college this year...), and was stereotypically insulting to everyone on campus: from the student to the roommate to the cafeteria worker to the professor. As a college professor, let me assure anyone who wasted their time and money on this publication that real college life is not like this - it's great. This booklet isn't.
