"Quiz Time with Colin"
Test your knowledge of Norbert's wacky world and all its inhabitants courtesy of everybody's favourite cuckoo!

Norbert, the fat old horse who lives in Farmer Finbar's field has a serious problem - His teeth are green! Unless this is quickly rectified, Delilah, the pretty pony who lives in the next paddock will surely never speak to him. But how can a horse clean its own teeth? With the help of Colin, the grumpy cuckoo who resides high up in the foliage of the sycamore tree, Norbert concocts a cunning a plan. But will he succeed in winning Delilah's heart? Or will it end in disaster?

It is the middle of July and the summer sun is beating gloriously down on the English countryside. But in Finbar’s Field, things are far from rosy. Norbert, the fat old cart horse is more depressed than ever because Colin the Cuckoo, his only friend in the world, is preparing to fly off for the holiday of a lifetime on the French Riviera, leaving him behind!
The badgers who reside in their hole beneath the hedge are no company due to their nocturnal habits, and Delilah, the pretty pony who lives in the next field, is continuing to ignore him.
When Colin’s holiday plans go horribly wrong, however, it is down to Norbert to save the day!
Will he manage to transform their field into a passable imitation of the French Riviera without incurring the wrath of Farmer Finbar? And will he win Delilah’s affections in the process?

Norbert the silly old horse and his best friend, Colin the Cuckoo, have never received a gift at Christmas time.
With a little help from Delilah, the pretty pony from the next field, they devise a cunning plan which will see Colin (albeit reluctantly) embark on a daring raid into the very depths of Farmer Finbar’s house; once inside, he must write a list to Father Christmas and send it up the chimney.
Farmer Finbar, meanwhile, has problems of his own; he is sick and tired of spending Christmas alone and is determined to enjoy this year’s festivities in the company of Mrs Muckleton, the love of his life. She, however, seems more interested in Finbar’s deadly rival, Old Joe Baxter. The last thing the grumpy old farmer needs is an unexpected encounter with a mangy, overweight cuckoo…
Far away, hurtling through the starry winter skies with his team of reindeer, Father Christmas is busy delivering gifts to all of the good children of the world, blissfully unaware of the chaos which will ensue when his flight path takes him directly over Norbert’s field…
Will Colin succeed in his daring mission? Will Norbert and Delilah ever receive their Christmas gifts? Will Finbar win the heart of his beloved? And will Father Christmas and Rudolph survive their first encounter with Norbert and his crazy chums?

Meet the Author

James Sutherland was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, many, many, many years ago. So long ago, in fact, that he can't remember a thing about it. The son of a musician, he moved around lots as a youngster, attending schools in the Isle of Man and Spain before returning to Stoke where he lurked until the age of 18. After gaining a French degree at Bangor University, North Wales, James toiled manfully at a variety of office jobs before making a daring escape through a fire exit, hell-bent on writing silly nonsense full-time. James was a big fan of Richmal Crompton's "Just William" books as a kid and has been spotted giggling at P.G. Woodhouse and George MacDonald Fraser's "Flashman" books (to name a couple of favourites) in adulthood. In his spare time, James enjoys hunting for slugs in the garden, chatting with his gold fish and frolicking around the house in his tartan nightie.James is best known as the writer of the "Norbert" stories, comic tales about the adventures of a dopey old horse and his irritable chum, Colin the Cuckoo. These have recently been compiled into a single book, "Norbert - The Collection" - which includes ALL of the Norbert stories to date, PLUS previously unreleased bonus material. In addition to the Norbert stories, James has four other titles currently available which are as follows:Roger the Frog - A spectacularly silly yarn featuring a special cameo appearance from Norbert. The Tale of the Miserous Mip - A dark, comic tale.Jimmy Black and the Curse of Poseidon - A funny full-length adventure story. The Ghastly Adventures of Frogarty Spittleflap - FOUR short stories about the world's foulest witch rolled into one book!"I'm always delighted to hear from any of my readers and will personally respond to any questions you may have - Please visit for contact details and all the latest news!Cheerio for now!"James
