Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Katsh
A nature lover's 32-page tour of the frozen North is between the covers of this large sized paperback book. Each spread is devoted to a different animal species native to the area. There's a short poem to introduce the animal, then a well-written description of its physiology, behavior, or adaptations. The text sits on lush, pastel-hued backgrounds that show the environment and close-up views of the featured animals. It's a lovely introduction to the northern biome and the animals that live there. It's part of a series of books, "The Grasshopper Series," that bring young readers a little closer to the natural world.
