    Great Book

My aunt purchased this book for us when we were kids and then an updated version 14 years later when my brother was born. We purchased this for my nephew who loved going with grandma and my aunt to New Mexico and asked for a book for himself. It's mainly the same but not as colorful as the original. I know he will cherish his book the way we have.

    THE best Nature guide

As a professional naturalist, I can testify that North American Wildlife is the single best compendium of information on native plant and animal species available. It concisely and accurately describes and depicts our flora and fauna and their habits and habitats with excellent regional representation. Clearly, a lot of careful research went into the production of this volume, and the editors, authors, and illustrators deserve the highest praise, as does Readers Digest for conceiving and producing this invaluable reference. I own several copies, and I take one with me wherever I go. I have yet to be disappointed in its scope and coverage.

    Great Resource

As a scout leader, I use this book to teach identification of trees, plants, and animals. We keep it handy at home and take it on trips. We used it recently to identify shore birds, shellfish and seaweeds. I like that flora and fauna are covered in one reasonably sized volume.

    Great reference book

I purchased this book when my children were very young. They are now in their teens and we are still using this book. I recently showed this book to my Uncle an avid hunter and fisherman, and he said he would really like a copy of it. We have used the book for many school projects and just to satify our own curiousity. It is a must for any young family.
