Visitors to western North Carolina are often surprised at the spectacular variety of waterfalls tucked among the Appalachians all the way from Murphy in the southwest to Stone Mountain in the northeast, and surprisingly, even in eastern locations such as Fayetteville and Rocky Mount. This guide features over 100 color and black-and-white photographs showing those waterfalls at their absolute best. Its special section about photographing waterfalls in general, as well as specific hints for photographing each individual waterfall, will help readers create memorable images of their own.

October of 2008 I went to Brevard, North Carolina to go on a Waterfall Hunting Camping Trip. This book was purchased in June of the same year and it was a great source of research on planning my whole trip. I chose ten waterfalls in the Brevard area that were stated in the book and planned my days of waterfall photo hunting. The book was very desriptive in helping with the hiking of trails to the waterfalls and mentioning other photo possiblities along the way. All the pictures I took with my SLR were stunning as the beauty rating system in the book was very accurate! The desciption of each waterfall is separated into two parts, one for trail descriptionn and the other for photo tips for the waterfall. Overall the book was very helpful in the planning of the trip and when i had it on the trail hunting waterfalls. But sadly the book is not water-proof, on the last waterfall I visited the book fell into the pool of water. I don't mind buying this nicely priced $20 book again for its usefulness for planned my next Waterfall Hunting Camping Trip! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
