Overview

Each title in the Not Your Mother's Book series contains approximately 60 real-life stories dedicated to a unique theme, drawn from the passion and experience of dozens of writers in a whimsical and entertaining mix of irreverence and humor. Founded by former coauthors and editors of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, this similarly styled anthology series foregoes the sad, sappy, preachy, or death-oriented stories that were that series' hallmark, and unlike that series, is never afraid to be a little risqué. These stories are funny, daring, different, and smart.

The dogs are loose and in rare form in this very funny and endearing anthology about our canine friends. Each contributor is, without a doubt, a devoted dog owner or dog lover, and each writes about the special dog in their lives. From puppy-dog antics to canine adventures, the dogs run free on the pages of this entertaining book. Many of the stories are about dogs adopted from shelters and rescue organizations.

If you are a lover of a good short story, and IF you happen to like dogs, this book is a MUST. I have given several as gifts and the recipients are always asking if there are any more anthologies I can recommend. There were several stories that were so doggone funny, I laughed till I leaked! Warning: Do not drink anything while reading this book. You might choke. Also, if you try reading it on an airplane, people might look at you funny. Just sayin....

If you love dogs, you will love this book. All 60-some stories are true, and many are really humorous. The book is well edited. I like carrying it with me to read while I am waiting because the stories are short. Sometimes I read it before bed too. Who doesn't want to fall asleep thinking of man's best friend? Well, unless your dog is crowding you out of bed. And if that's the case, keep reading...maybe you will find a story about that very situation! This is a great book that I would not hesitate to give as a gift to either a man or a woman, as long as they love dogs!

At last, a humorous dog anthology...minus the sad death/dying stories. Oh, I shed tears...but only tears of joy. Very entertaining!! Should be a big hit for holiday shopping.
