Honky Tonk Hearts Series

Chase Paladin avoids commitment like a patch of stinging nettles. He's seen how love can trample a man, and he doesn't plan to get hitched—ever. But when Honor Jackson walks into his life, hell-bent on keeping her distance, she turns his convictions inside out.

One look at the too-handsome cowboy with laughing green eyes and a killer smile, and Honor knows he's nothing but trouble. She's come to Redemption, Texas to help an old friend, not to let another man charm her into certain heartache.

But every time she turns around, Chase is there, and the closer they get, the more she fears he'll break her heart. So when anonymous threats make it clear that someone in Redemption wants her gone, Honor is ready to oblige. Only now Chase isn’t certain he can live without her.

Will two wary hearts take a chance on love before it's too late?

    Nothing but fun

This is a fun read. Chase and Honey are the perfect romantic couple. Ms. Gallant knows how to tell a story - I could just hear the Texas drawl and see the western town with its characters. This is the first book in the series and I'm now sure to read the others.

Chase Paladin is a typical cowboy. Not that it’s a bad thing. He’s handsome, flirty, and runs from commitment. So how does he get tangled up with a girl who’s taking a ‘break from men’? Honor Jackson has been through a tough time. Between her grandfather’s death and mounting bills, she needs a new start. Redemption, Texas, seems to be just the place. Despite her protests, she finds herself more than involved with the smooth talking cowboy.

But Honor doesn’t immediately fall into his lap which is intriguing to Chase. But when someone starts leaving not-so veiled threats on her doorstep, it’s Chase to the rescue (and let’s face it—most of us love cowboys who rescue). Chase is sweet, respectful, and doesn’t give himself near enough credit, while Honor is dealing with her own short-comings and ghosts from the past.

Nothing But Trouble is a fun story. It’s a great escape read for a rainy (or otherwise) afternoon. Just what a short romance should be.
