Overview

From the depths of an English forest to glittering ballrooms to the scaffold's dark shadow, ride the path of temptation with Kat Martin in Nothing But Velvet...

Lovely Velvet Moran has renounced all thoughts of love. To save her family from ruin, she will wed the hard-faced Duke of Carlyle. But instead of becoming a nobleman's bride, Velvet finds herself a notorious highwayman's prize-her resolve to escape his forest lair warring with the wicked heat sparked by his caresses.

Falsely branded a murderer, Jason Sinclair has secretly returned to clear his name and stop the wedding that would deny him his stolen dukedom. In an outlaw masquerade, he'll kidnap this sensuous minx and detain her as long as is necessary. But can he bridle the surge of passion that has captured his soul...and could imperil them both?

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Against a backdrop of glittering Georgian England, an embittered hero seeking revenge kidnaps a feisty heroine. What more could a romance reader want? Deprived of a dukedom and sentenced to hang after his younger brother murders their father and frames him, Jason Sinclair escapes and then returns incognito to clear his name. Set on preventing his dissolute brother's marriage to heiress Velvet Moran, he kidnaps the strong-willed lady. Since she's actually broke, however, and had no idea that her fianc was a deadbeat, she's grateful for the intervention. Soon she and the reluctant Jason join forces and pursue clues that point to his innocence, but they are thwarted at every turn by the evil usurper After steaming up half the windows in England and escaping more perils than Pauline, this engaging couple finds redemption in the nick of time. The humor's never jokey, the heroine's nave but not a nitwit, in other words it's a boisterous carriage ride in which Martin (Bold Angel) shows herself to have a firm grasp on the reins. (July)

    Darkfire is near: Chapter 10

Go through. Oh do u guys want to come with us on an adventure. Sure. When we started off again. I saw changelings coming toward us. Bluespark and I got our creature power suits out. We looked everywhere for an animal. I saw a basalis. BlueSpark found a red kangaroo. We got out those animal disk. We touched the animal that we found. We hit our activation button on the suit. Nitro got out his sword. CS got her ax out. Beats was gonna hoof them. Twilight got ready to use her magic. All the other were acting like wrestlers. When I turned into a basalis I started running on water. BlueSpark started kickboxing. CS started slicing changelings in half. Nitro used his sword by putting it on fire and threw it at changelings. All the others had really good hoofs for punching. Twilight thought of friendship and shot a thousand changelings with fire. We won the fight.

    Hmmmm

I read Silk and Steel. I really enjoyed it. So I read Nothing but Velvet, this being the first of a sequel. It was disappointing. The beginning and ending is good but the middle....each chapter was agonizing. So frustrating the relationship between the two main characters. Each chapter was a repeat of the last with a little of the plot playing out. Pretty soon you don't even care if the character's get together or not. But the beginning and end are good. The premise of the book is great, just getting there is agonizing. I'm glad I didn't give up on KM though. Just finished Innocence Undone and it is fantastic!!! So I will be reading more of KM.

    WONDERFUL!

What a delicious read! Nothing but Velvet has romance, adventure and drama. I accidentally stumbled on this book when I was in desperate search for a good historical romance, and boy, this was good! The lead characters were wonderful, Jason is a hero to absolutely die for. Velvet was just totally fantastic. The passion, heartache and romance they shared were so real I could feel it. The villain Avery was just that, a real villain! Lucien (the hero in Silk and Steel) is a true loyal friend. Nothing but Velvet is fast paced, full of surprises and very exciting. The story Jason told Velvet at end of the book about his past gave me goose bumps! This is one of the best historical (regency) romances I¿ve ever read. I read this book in 1 day. I just couldn¿t put it down! You have feel good movies, and this is a feel good book! So buy this book and make sure you have enough time to read this non-stop and enjoy being whisked in the glittering world of Jason Sinclair and Velvet Moran!
