    AMAZING!!!

I read this book in my 6th grade reading class and it is by far the BEST book i have ever read! This book is about a young teen struggling to survive with his mom and younger sister in the Great Depression after his father leaves to find work. Serious, yet humorous at sometimes. :) I really liked how the author based the story line around the Great Depression. (good historical fiction.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!!

Learn about the ups and downs of Danny's family

Nothing to Fear is written by Jackie French Koller. It is about a boy, Danny, in the Depression whose dad leaves their family to look for work. This leaves their family struggling to survive and dependent on their mom's ironing and Danny's shoe shining. It is a great book about the ups and downs of Danny and his family. I enjoyed this book immensely because I liked the story line and the way it was written. I would highly recommend it to anyone and hope they enjoy it as much as I did.

Family hit hard by The Depression

Hit powerfully by the Great Depression, Danny Garvey's father is forced to leave his home of NY City while he goes in search of work. While he is gone, Danny does what he can to keep his family alive. Even when that means helping his mother with household chores or earning a few extra pennies shinings people's shoes. But all this isn't enough as the months go by with no word from father. Although they grow closer to their neighbors. I liked this book because it was a realistic story of a family during the Great Depression. It was very interesting an you learn about a little history.
