Overview

This comprehensive Edgar Cayce diet and nutrition guide is your road map to better health. Edgar Cayce, the world's best-documented psychic, emphasized the biblical view of the body as a temple for the spirit. The task of sustaining the body, through good nutrition and other means, is therefore a spiritual responsibility. Cayce gave thousands of psychic readings addressing health and nutrition. Today, scientific research has validated many of the dietary recommendations proposed by Cayce, notably his consistent admonitions to substantially increase the intake of vegetables and fruits. Food fads come and go, but the Cayce diet stands the test of time as a sound, well-balanced nutrition plan that supplies all necessary nutrients in a form that is easily assimilated by the body.

Nourishing the Body Temple provides a complete overview of the principles of healthy eating, synthesized from the Cayce readings by a professional nutritionist who explains them from the perspective of modern nutritional science. Discussed are a wide range of topics, including enzymes, pH balance, vitamins, minerals, food combining, vegetarian diet, and medicinal foods. This book also gives you concise health information on topics such as:

  • fruits, vegetables, and juicing
  • raw food power
  • seasonings, sweeteners, and beverages
  • meat and dairy products
  • fats and oils
  • the special nutritional value of sea vegetables
  • preserving nutrients in the cooking process
  • power-boosting the immune system through an alkaline diet
  • balancing weight naturally
A section of the book addresses the use of foods and supplements for nutritional needs during pregnancy and lactation, as well as for babies, young children, and teens.

In her nutritional counseling practice in Toronto, Canada, Simone Gabbay focuses on broadening her clients' awareness of how certain foods and nutritional supplements either increase or decrease the body's vital energy force. She also teaches the principles of proper food combining and food preparation. Her extensive research into many different schools of nutrition enables her to offer her clients a comprehensive understanding of the influence of food energies on physical, emotional, and mental well-being. One of her favored areas of expertise is the holistic dietary and lifestyle approach of Edgar Cayce.

Review by Catherine MacDonald, author of Heaven Knows

When this book first arrived in our home, I placed it on the bottom of my reading pile, and sighed, 'another book on nutrition'. I have read many, and have a good collection in my personal library, so I was in no rush to read yet another. It was a few days later, at our local (Edgar Cayce) study group, that the book was brought back to my attention. It was the talk of the group. 'Wonderful book, beautifully executed, fantastic collection of nutritional insights, easy to read, everything I always wanted to know,' were a few of the excited comments. Well, with that introduction, I had to elevate the book to the top of my reading pile. And as I have discovered, well it should have been. This is a comprehensive diet and nutritional guide explaining topics such as enzymes, pH balance, vitamins, minerals, food combining, vegetarian diet and food as medicine. To quote from the book, 'The task of sustaining the body, through proper nutrition and other measures, thus becomes a spiritual responsibility. It becomes a goal fueled by the sacred purpose of empowering the soul - the God-self of each individual - to more perfectly express and experience the full spectrum of its divine attributes.' Thank you Simone for 'Nourishing the Body Temple', your gift to all of us. God Bless.
