Overview

Jumping back into an old life is hard, something Liam O'Callaghan speedily finds out.

Author J. William English's November takes readers to St. Dunstans, Scotland, a tiny coastal village where nothing ever happensâ€"at least, it didn't. A struggling writer and recent graduate of the University of Dublin, Liam tries to settle back into life at home but finds that something is missing. A reprobate of faith since his late teens, he rebels against the pressure from his friends to return to church. Heart-wrenching challenges face the young, would-be writer, as well as dangerous and difficult choices. When a ruthless murderer arrives in the village and makes Liam his target of persecution, Liam and his friends are driven to take matters into their own hands. Life is fast going downhill, and meanwhile, he may be losing the girl he's loved most of his life. A contemporary tale of conflicted love, bitterness, and raw emotion, November is a bleak, at times dark story, but it is shrouded with the light of hope. As readers learn, there is always a way out, even when things are at their worst. The question is: will Liam November O'Callaghan be wise enough to choose it?

A good book by a new author! A little slow for the first chapter

A good book by a new author! A little slow for the first chapter or so, but when it speeds up, you won't be able to put the book down. Questions are raised, and many are answered, but still some are left unanswered, creating a brilliant story with mystery and suspense.

A great book by a talented young author.

    In my opinion...

November is a tender tale of a passionate young man, who's heart's secret desire to know the peace that passes all understanding is thwarted by sorrows and regrets of the past; and a fast paced series of present tragedies, loss and rejection.
It's a moving story that draws you in and tugs at your heart. You won't be able to put it down!
Can Liam stand the test of time or will he crumble under the weight of circumstances he can't understand? Will he find his heart's desire? Check it out!!

I am so proud to be related to the greatest author ever!!!!

This is an absolutely A-MAZING book!! It will make you laugh and cry, and you won't be able to put it down.
It is a romantic love story, a dramatic murder mystery, and a beautiful tale of redemption. The characters are original and full of depth, and the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will keep you up late at night, cause it will be so hard to stop reading.
Without a doubt, this is the best book I've ever read! I think it will especially appeal to teens, but in my opinion anyone older than that could read it and enjoy it just as much.

    Finished in one sitting:

Reading this book was an interesting ride through a contemporary and imaginative plot.

While the characters and plot were not as well developed nor as well defined as I would have liked, it was still a very enjoyable read. For those readers who enjoy thrillers and romance novels, I would highly recommend it!

While perhaps more 'dark' than necessary, it is as everyone has said; you can't put it down until its finished. Just be sure you have a large pot of strong coffee nearby.

    Good first book!

    J. William English produces a good first book with "November." I found the book hard to put down. In the end I was quite satisfied with how the plot played out and look forward to reading his next book.

There were some weaknesses in character development and flow of the story. However, the author completed this book by age 17, so I am sure that his writing will continue to improve.

I highly recommend this book for any reader that likes a tale with romance, mystery, suspense, and hope. Just be prepared to delay bedtime, work or chores so that you do not have to put it down before it is done!
