I’m such a sucker for happy ever after love stories!! I loved the characters; Emma is smart, quiet and towards the end a fighter; Cole is a hottie with brains and a body!! He fights for what he wants and he wants Emma. You can’t help but root for Emma when it comes to her sister Layla. The story flows well; the pace is pretty fast with a few twists and the editing is great. The chapters alternate between Emma and Cole’s POV. A nice sweet love story; between childhood friends and a sister who had outshined the other while growing up. Several spots in the story that were very touching and several quotes I really liked. “I have to open the door, sex on legs is in my hallway. F! “Is it possible I can drive him as crazy as he drives me?” “You smell to f-ing good, Em, he said, forcing her back against the car as he pressed his body against hers” “F. me! I’m trouble, he thought as he looked at her” This is the first book I read from this author and she didn’t disappoint, I will be adding her to my favorite authors list and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series “Now and Again #2” which is out now!! I love that I don’t have to wait for the next one!! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review. Although well written, the main character dwelling so much on the past was a bit much.

**JUST BOOKED received an ARC for an honest review** “LOVE is a leap of faith…It’s not always easy or smooth or comfortable. Only you know…enough to risk it.” – NOW AND AGAIN Now and Then is the first novel in the Now series and we are introduce to Emma Carson growing up in the shadows of her older beautiful and popular sister, Layla Carson. Emma also had a crush on her neighbor across the street, Cole Marlowe, since he moved in the neighborhood when she was a little girl. Cole is handsome, popular, and closer to her sister’s age, so she always found herself in the shadows looking at Cole from afar, until 12 years later they run into each other at a coffee shop. Emma is has changed since her adolescence years, leaving to attend art school in Paris and returning as a graphic designer and artist. After Cole an attorney now really saw Emma for the first time, he can not stop thinking about her and is determine to learn more about her. Emma also thought she had forgotten about Cole, but it seems her heart has not forgotten the love she had for him 12 years ago. Unfortunately, his task was not going to be easy because Layla had told Emma she was determined to have him as her future husband. Unravel the twists and turns of a siblings love for the same man and uncover the challenges he has to faces between the two to fight for his love too. Now and Again is the second novel in the Now series is about Layla Carson story about finding love and the novel begins immediately were we left on in the first book in the series, Now and Then. Layla is a cooperate lawyer and decides she is making a change her life because sex has been making a little messy, until she meets Ben Montrose. Layla and Ben have many things in common, like independence, hot & beautiful, stubborn, determination, and dominating. The chemistry is undeniable, so they arrange to be exclusive with each other for four weeks, but what they did not plan for was what journey their feelings were going to take them after the four weeks.  Author Brenda Rothert romance novels, Now and Then and Now and Again, has done an AMAZING job writing a BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY that will capture your attention immediately and find yourself unable to put the book down. You will also experience a roller coaster of emotions from feeling SCARED, SADNESS, SUSPENSEFUL, SHOCKED, LOVE, SALACIOUS, and TENDERNESS.  Brenda Rothert will not have us to waiting too long to find out what will happen next, because she is currently writing the third book in the series, Now and Forever, the story of Emma Carson & Cole Marlowe and Layla Carson & Ben Montrose.  I rate Brenda Rothert’s novel in the Now series, Now and Then and Now and Again – 5 AMAZING STARS!

This is not a cliffhanger. This was a story about two lovers who had secrets in their past that impacted their relationship now. Today they use the phrase "Take away the stigma" when addressing mental health. Not so long ago a presidential run was destroyed when it was revealed that there was depression counseling with a contender. People have a fear of what others are thinking while they are living life with someone who has poor mental/emotional health. I felt that Layla is challenged in living her life centered around her own ego. Emma had to deal with the emotional roller coaster her sister purposely kept her on. Although the story was Emma's teenage fairytale crush becoming a reality, it was centered on Emma's fear of how her sister would react. The story was in depth and I found that it made me think... I recommend this story, and I am looking forward to the story where Layla finds out who she is and what she is.

I kept waiting for Emma to wake up and begin to live her own life and dreams. Less of the detailed past would have been a more enjoyable read.

Interesting concept, going past and present in writing this story. Loved Emma and Cole's characters, Layla as well.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Cole and Emma, but even more, I loved the story between the sisters. This story is great in that it reminds you that although we grow up there is always a part of us that holds on to who we were.

This takes me back to my school days and the boys I had a crush on and the friends I had. This was a great book to read and relax to. I enjoyed reading it very much. I'm so glad Emma finally stood up to Layla. It's a situation that a lot of siblings have and are sometimes afraid to say how they feel, even the situation with Cole and Shay. :)

Cute story. Dwelled too much on heroine's dilemma...almost ad nauseum, without which i would have given a higher rating. Serious issue handled tastefully. Looking forward to more from this author!

One-night stands, slutty sex addicts and foul language doesn't make a romantic love story. Barely made it through half the book before I decided to quit hoping it would get better. Feel sorry for people who think this is what romance is like.

“I don’t need a man taking up the time I want to spend painting and reading and doing whatever else I want.” (26) Emma is an art geek that has traveled to Europe and now works as a Graphic Designer, which automatically relates her to me. Emma and Cole have known each other since they were kids living across the street from each other. Now, 12 years later, they bump into each other and it’s like they were never apart. A long-harbored crush resurfaces as the two get reacquainted while contending with family history and drama. Apparently, the two families are close friends and always figured that Cole would end up with Layla, Emma’s cooler, successful, older sister. But Emma and Cole can’t fight their attraction to one another. A story of then and now, this is a tale that goes back and forth between past and present. Reader experiences the spark and passion between the two characters while reliving their past as well. Cole and Emma are just so good together. Quick and sweet story.
