Actually, Dispirito—once named Food & Wine's Best New Chef, star of the hit reality series Rocco's Dinner Party, and author of the syndicated AP column "Now Eat This!"—offers recipes for things like Calamari Fritti and Spaghetti Pomodoro at half the calories. Look for Dispirito's appearance on Good Morning America.

    Fantastic!!

It's an homage to all the Italian women who have shaped lives through the love in their food. Plus he goes a step further in lightening up the dishes. The pictures are gorgeous, the food makes your mouth water and it's overall an amazing read. For someone who dislikes cooking veggies, he made me want to eat every veggie recipe in this book!

I made two of his recipes from Good Morning America. Chicken Mar

I made two of his recipes from Good Morning America. Chicken Marsala and the Brussels Sprouts with pancetta, both were fantastic. I purchased the book, I'm sure I will not be disappointed.

Anyone who has attempted to create mouth-watering Italian dishes

Anyone who has attempted to create mouth-watering Italian dishes knows how difficult it is to maintain that luscious flavor without sacrificing one’s waistline! Rocco Dispirito, a young and exciting chef, has assembled dozens of tempting recipes that are low fat, low calorie, yet retain the flavor of typical Italian cuisine.
Sample marinated mushrooms, pasta salad prima vera, Italian ice, cannolis, delectable steak pizzaiola or chicken cacciatore. Best of all, Mr. Dispirito introduces us to genuine Italian mamas, who provided not only their recipes, but also great tips to shorten preparation time and enhance the eye appeal of each dish. Perfect book for a cook who wants a little variety.

    Scrumptious

What a brilliant Idea to pare down the calories of some of America's favorite dishes. And they remain delicious too!
