Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Three series aimed at beginning readers will gear children up for fall. The Now I'm Reading! series offers two titles by Nora Gaydos, illus. by B.B. Sams, focusing on phonics, each in a brightly colored corrugated binder with a magnetic closure. Animal Antics covers short-vowel sounds for "level one" readers; Amazing Animals highlights long-vowel sounds for "level two" readers. A Parent Guide bound into the left side of the binder offers tips and includes 40 stickers for rewarding successful readers; on the right, 10 numbered 12-page stories fit into transparent sleeves. Each story concludes with a set of questions for "After You Read" plus the skills taught in the tale. (July) Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.

Great Book for Early Readers (Kindergarten)!

We started the series with Level 1 to supplement the reading materials that were coming home from school. Level 2 is a great transition from Level 1. These books are amazing! Our son's reading level has improved and he is always excited to read one of these books every night. The added motivation of the stickers (which you place on the inside cover of each book you complete) is a great idea.

Excellent tool to teach reading. Using it with our five year old who is in Kindergarten. She has begun to learn to read on her own because of this book. I highly recommend it.

This book is level level two in the series, So you need to start with the first book in the series as the books build upon one another to develop the child's reading skills. T have found this series to be remarkable in how they develop reading skills in a child who is just beginning to learn how to read.

    A True Beginner's Book

If you are looking for a place to start teaching to read, this book is it. It deals with short vowels words and the basic of sight words needed to start reading. I especially like how the sentences structures start out very simple and become more complex through each book.

    Wonderful!

I just could not be happier with these books! My daughter loves to read them, book one starts with the 'Ape date'and her big goal is to get to the Unicorn lunch!(book 10. At the end of each book there are great review questions for the parents to ask, And stickers to reward with. My daugher has gained so much confidence through these books. I highly encourage parents to buy them.
